If its interface is the same as the 5th Gen iPod Video.... once you hook up your cables to the TV, go into (on the iPod) Video > Video Settings > TV Out (turn this on) > TV Signal (NTSC...I'm in the U.S.) > Widescreen (On or Off...your choice).
Hope that works; I dont have the Touch yet.

On all the new ipods (classic inc) they have removed the ability to directly feed AV out of the headphone jack.
You must now plug in a dock and then the AV cable out the back of the dock.
I do not know if the Touch supports video out even through this route - I have an iPhone, and this does not have any of the settings described above.

i talk to the tech at apple and he said to get the the plug that plugin in to the dock and the other end is red yellow and white so i was thinkin can't you make this using a old dock plug and some rca cables? still no word on the hacks? whats everyones oppinion on the itouch vs the iphone. y get a phone what hard as hell to text on and you can get the same thing with 2x the memory for the same price. isnt that what a phone is used for communication not all this other stuff? there are other phones out there this has aim text email phone thats alot easier to use so y not get the touch same features minus the crappy phone
Are you kidding? You must now use a dock? Looks like my 5g might have some value after all:D
I have a turtle top van with mounted tv. I ripped out the dvd player the tv used to be hooked up to and ran a rca line from the back of the tv to a shelf above the van's passenger's seat. Much more convenient, out of site, and I have the ability to control playback from the front seats. There's no room and no need for an iPod dock.
This sounds more like M$, than Apple; i.e. messing with something that works.
What's the point of requiring a dock:confused:

can't help you on the video cable thing, but i love my iphone, and i type as well as I did on my e61 on it.... to me it is among the best cellphones i've ever owned.... dunno where you are getting your wrong opinions from but it isnt hard as hell to txt on it, and no, it isnt a crappy phone...
plus, i never had an ipod before, i think its pretty stupid to carry a bunch of devices everywhere you go, with the iphone i have it all...
as for being 16gb for the same price, i really couldnt care that much... i'd probably buy the next iphone that comes out with bigger memory, just cause i prolly wont resist (even though itll be more expensive), but 8gb is more than enough for me...

With the dock hookup, you can use component out...with the headphone jack interface, you're stuck with composite, which is on the low end of today's standards. Using the dock provides much more flexibility.
