Now i have a question, i'm one of those iPhone owners who previously attempted to unlock their iPhone manually to no avail and also using the GUI to the same result (Incorrect SIM.) Now should i try to run the anySIM on my iPhone first or should i just jump straight to the end and run the files you said to run if we get those error messages to get the iphone back as close to factory as possible?

The reason i ask is because im pretty sure me running the anySIM is not oging to give me the result i hope for, so should i just cut that out until the end or does it have to be done as said in the guide?

No need for binkit or anytool,once unlocked its done,hot swap with any sim.

with t mobile
calls yes
wifi yes
sms havent checked and same with edge - trust me there is no problem unless something weird is done.

buddy the msg u have is diff then what i have heard from anyone,,seems that your phone is unlocked but its not working with that sim.so swap ur sim with some other one thats not 3g or something,i'm sleepy tats what i gather from the link u posted.

I'm afraid they won't change your SIM. Their network is 3G only and your iPhone 2G. Your iPhone is probably unlocked as it is and you should simply try a 2G provider SIM in it . There is no chance you will be able to use your phone with your current provider.

i called my provider now and they told me that they only have new SIM cards, but no older "COMP128V1" SIM's. They can't cange it to an older model, so I have a problem now...
Will have to change my provider and quit my contract :-(

restart and check if your phone is already unlocked,otherwise proceed with last few steps and patch the fls /eep files and then restore and try again from the begining

that sound like your phone is unlocked just need to power down the phone ,take out the att sim,insert the sim of your choice and you shoud be done!

Switch it on, see if it comes to this screen –

Make sure you have itunes 7.4.2 downloaded and installed
1) Now connect it to your computer. Ignore iTunes.
2) Now press and hold the power button and slide the red slider to the right to power it off.
3) Power your phone back on as soon as you see the grey apple logo press and hold the power and home button ,keep holding them till you see a yellow triangle below, the phone will restart a couple of time before it reaches there.

4) Now iTunes will give you a prompt to restore your phone ,click on it and then click on update and restore the phone - IMP hold and press shift key and now select on the 1.02 firmware , incase you don’t have the firmware, download the file (you will get the link many places here) and then flash the firmware.
5) I’m going to use ibrickr for jailbreaking the phone, so get ibrickr and if you need the itunes file its up there with the downloads.


6) Once you open ibrickr it’ll give you the following prompt,

Click on “free my iphone”

After this press sweet once your phone is on,at this point my ibrickr doesn’t sense the iphone anymore so now,close and restart ibrickr.

immediately it’ll ask you to restart your phone again.Again restart your phone.

It’ll come here

Click on install from pxl and browse to the anysim 1.01.pxl
It’ll install the app and softrestart the phone.

On your phone goto settings genral,autolock never.Now Open your phone to spring board and click on anysim app.Slide to unlock and scroll down to the red button of freedom,click once on it,it’ll take a second to start and then take from 3- 10 mins wait for it to complete.

Now there are variety of prompts you might get, what I got was unlock failed ,check minicom ,I restarted my phone inserted a tmobile sim, made some calls and voila its done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All Credits goto Dev Team, but I feel though the software does its job ,it’s a little buggy. Needs a update,but will surely work if you followed this right!

This guide wants you to do a couple of restarts and works well.This app is just a upgrade of unlock.pxl and unlock_fast.pxl ,its the same to use this .

Now for people having problems and using already hacked phones

You need to have these files

And bbupdater download link is on the top (same as anysim).

Now you need to send the eep and fls files to usr/bin ,pls make sure you get the right eep files the 08 files is for firmware 1.01 and 1.02 and 06 for 1.00 firmware. Use files option in iBrickr, to transfer files to your phone ,using the dummy phone in ibrickr browse to the folder where you need to place the file and then click on upload files and browse to the file on your computer.

After this you need to install installer.app and
from your phone install
Community Resources,BSD Subsystems,Open SSH .

For people who don’t have wifi download

Mobile terminal vt 100 (http://iphone.exploit.org/pxl/MobileTerminal-VT100-svn161.pxl)and install using ibrickr (same way as we installed anysim).

Use your iphones keyboard to enter the same commands as to be entered in putty as it is.

Using putty. download putty here (http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe)

Now you have to find your phone’s ip address, on your phone goto settings > wireless> click on the network your connected onto ,here you’ll get your phones ip.

Enter this no like xxx.xxx.x.xxx as it is in putty

And click open.
The first time you connect ,you’ll have to wait about 30s to a min. Now enter user as root
And password as dottie.


If your getting no service

use this command in putty

launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

this command would just run the comm center,now at this point restart your phone and see if its unlocked and working,congrats if it is otherwise proceed as follows

open putty again
and through ibrickr upload bbupdater to usr/bin

run these commands



launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

chmod +x bbupdater

bbupdater -f *.fls -e *.eep

launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

power the phone down and bring to the yellow triangle screen now connect to itunes and do a restore.This is as close to getting a phone from the factory as possible.Follow the above procedure and hopefully your phone should get unlocked.

If it says no such process after the unload command,just proceed with the chmod command.

You can use anysim 1.1.1 with virgin phones but do not use it with a phone already unlocked via older versions of anysim or any of the unlock.pxl/ iunlock etc they are less refined versions of anysim.

At the end, I restarted it, and ATT worked fine. I took the Simm out, and put an old expired Italien TIM Simm in, and it did not recognize it, but the ANYSIM started over again.

Then I took the TIM SIMM out, and put the ATT back . Now the ATT SIMM does not work, although I do have WiFi.

I tried to restore it using installer.app and community resources,open ssh, and BSD Subsystems, but noi luck.
Any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated !!!!

hi I_max2k2, I tried to restore the phone but failed. I off the phone and restart again, when i see the apple logo i pressed the home and power buton until i saw a triangle. Then i hit the restore button on itunes 7.4.2. (i use 7.4.1 to activate and unlock with unlock.pxl ). after downloading the update files (about 4hours), a pop up said the iphone cannot be restored. What is the problem? Was I did something wrong?

buddy that error is a server error that everyone has been facing for last few days,their activation servers.

okie do this switch off your phone .power it up and dont do anything,open up itunes and connect your phone ,if you recieve the update error restart your computer and then it should restore your phone.

okie you need to flash your baseband and try again,something failed somewhere,coz ur phone is still locked.
follow the guide patiently, and it will work, once u patch the files dont try again, first power off ,restart see if all things are working ,then restore and try again.

what do u mean it doesnt recognize it,any prompt other than "Incorrect Sim ....." means the phone is unlocked but is probably not compatible with the sim. Okie now you need to patch ur baseband for that follow whats written in the end,download the file put it in usr/lib folder run those commands,restore ur phone and then should hopefully work,do not use any sim twice.

Did you copy the iTunesMobileDevice.dll file to the ibrickr folder?

Just guessing as you did not provide any specific information with which anyone could help you (itunes version, os, status of phone, etc)

I would guess you are using iTunes 7.4.X. Did you try and copy the 'iTunesMobileDevice.dll' - file into the ibrickr directory? (link to the file is in the 1st message).

I'm having a bit of trouble. I went out and bought a brand new iPhone with the plan of using it with my T-Mobile SIM.

Initially I went through all of the instructions, and like many others when running Anysim I recieved the "Check Minicom" error. At that point I attempted to use my T-Mobile SIM and recieved a "No Service Error".

I've now attempted to reset back to the factory state - though when I run this command:

launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

I get "Nothing to Load".

Now, even with the AT&T SIM, the iPhone gives me an invalid SIM error, as does iTunes. In other words, I couldn't even activate the normal way at this point. Have I fried something? Where should I go from here?

Hi, can anyone teach me how to perform this:-


1- launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
2- bbupdater -f ICE03.14.08_G.fls
3- bbupdater -e ICE03.14.08_G.eep
4- launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
the IMEI should change to something like 004999010640000 and the iPhone will not accept any SIM if not start from step 1 again

5- Use your unlock.pxl to unlock

Someone wrote it and this could solve my no incoming sms and bluetooth not working problem.

Please help.

if your phone is unlocked and ur facing trouble with bluetooth and sms, i'd suggest simply restore your phone and then use lockedownd to disable activation, at this point your phone should work well with sms and bluetooth.

Hi Max, I did removed the dashes.. but the file that i downloaded is just only 6k. nothing inside. But now the important thing is, I followed your instrucion, use lockedownd to disable avtivation, ( i skipped the anysim unlock ). But the same thing happened, no incoming sms and BT... Please help.

hi Max,i tried to perform these in terminal. But the bbupdater not found. Where shall i place the .fls and .eep file so that the command can run? I unloaded and loaded again the commcenter, then i have to do the unlock again. just nothing change. any help?

I never got to this line:

On the dummy iphone select usr and then libexec and upload the lockdownd file there.
Now just restart your iphone.(plain power off and power on)
The phone will come to the springboard starigtaway,no more activation required.

I wonder what i did wrong. After the restart the phone still said activation....

no if u have ur phone unlocked ,u got no bugs ,just restore ur phone and use lockdownd to activate it,, and u would have a out of the box unlocked phone, do not run anysim 1.02 ,infact do not run any unlockin software 2ice on ur phone.

you have to download the 1.02 firmware and , in itunes press and hold shift and then press restore a browse to window will open, browse to that file and let it restore and proceed, u'll get the file link somewhere here

max I just wanted to say thanks for your guide. I unlocked a month ago using your guide (decided to go with yours after researching all the methods) and didn't have any problems throughout your process! Reason I didn't post this earlier is b/c I was so excited with my newly unlocked iPhone and just had no need for hackint0sh forums anymore! But now I'm back (looking to upgrade to 1.1.1. maybe) so thanks again!
