Turbo has been kind enough to put up this page as a sort of guide to getting this to work.. Just used parts of this to modify the image that I made two days ago from the original semthex howto (for internal drives).. Boots right up into Mac OS X 10.4.8!!!!

Note to anyone who (like me) only enabled SSH on your image before booting up your AppleTV... And forgot to install a VNC client or enable the built-in support for VNC.. Just do this command:
sudo /System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/Resources/kickstart -configure -clientopts -setvnclegacy -vnclegacy yes -setvncpw -vncpw 71463E00FFDAAA95FF1C39567390ADCA
That sets the vnc password to "frontrow". You can, of course, come up with your own password there, but to do that you'll need the vncpasswd.pl script that I found here:
