Hi everybody!
I looked at the quartzcomposer file for the "floating photos"-screensaver because i realy want this on my macbook. But i don't get it working. I can't find the point where the images were loaded. Does anybody have an idea how to get this working as a screensaver for the normal os x?
Thankx

I'm in the same boat as you. I tried to modify it with Quartz Composer, but havent been succesfull (I just started to play with Quartz Composer) but anyways I can't get it to load the pics, even get a dialog to ask for the pictures location.
Anyone?

You will not find the pictures, because they are downloaded from iTunes store.
I've sniffed the transmission and found the direct link to get the pics.
The problem is that they are encrypted (probably Fairplay DRM) as they are recognized as jpg but they are just grey when you open them.
I've also found a way to save the Movie trailers (they are in 720p) the video codec is VC0 and the sound Codec is AAC protected.
Something i didn't get is : how come i am able to play those Protected videos with Quicktime ?
The quartz composer Floating Photos Saver is getting the x,y,z animation values from Back Row, so even if you changer the image loader, they won't move.
If you are patient you'll be able to do the same with the New Quartz composer and Core Animation (like the start up video of AppleTV) in Leopard. ;)

They can't be from the "itunes store", the default pics are stored in /"AppleTVFinder"/Contents/Screen Savers/Photo.frss/Contents/Resources/DefaultPhotos
Maybe you have loged the traffic from the albumscreensaver? How has taken the stream form your ituneslibary?
I had blocked the hole traffic and the photoscreensaver is still working without any connection outgoing.

My bad ! :D
I would have to look a bit closer, i went in this folder, but haven't really watched inside.
But i can tell you that Back Row is downloading Pictures and Videos from the iTunes Store and store them in a cache.
So now for the pics my thought is that it is probably the Movies cover for the preview trailers.

I would love to be able to install the floating pictures screensaver (my pics not album covers) on my Macbook.
Any ideas?
On the topic of screensaver, i'm interesting in only having the apple tv put the monitor in sleep mode after x minutes. i'm thinking this is done more through power management than a screensaver module. but what the command line "defaults write" for this?

has nobody figured this out yet? surely copying some of the quartz bits into a new quartz file, and setting an import path for the photos you want to display would work? i just don't know how to do that!
