OK I had the latest OSX 10.5.4 installed on my macbook pro with all the latest updates etc, and I backed up everything to a 1 T Time Capsule automatically.
NOW this weekend I had issues, I could not boot my macbook pro.
So in my wisdom (which is in question on this one), I decided to restore from TIME CAPSULE. Isnt that whats its for ?
The OS X CD I have is of course 10.5.1 and thats the issues, when I boot from CD and then select restore from back up, I can select the image I want from the time capsule and the whole restore process begins... BUT NEVER FINISHES ! It always hangs half way through.
Now this issue was common when 10.5.1 was first used with time machine and time capsule but the update seemed to have fixed all of these problems. It used to be that it would never backup the first image and always hang half way through.
So DO I NEED TO HAVE 10.5.4 CD in order to have a system stable enough in order to restore my backups ?
Is there a way I can make up a boot disk for this purpose ?
I have another macbook which I can use.
This is not funny, I spend a month frustrated when time capsule came out when it could not backup. I was very happy when this was fixed by apple with the software update.
NOW I am back to the same problem only this time I can not restore.
HELP !!!!!
P.S I AM USING ETHERNET
