How would I do that? On Windows, it would be quite easy. Just run WAMP. How about this?

Run the 'port' command in a terminal. Type 'search php' then 'install php5'

Best tool for PHP/Mysql is MAMP (http://www.mamp.info/en/index.php).
It's a package of PHP, Mysql, Php Myadmin and Apache.
It's a very cool software. I certainly recommend it. I'm using it for quite a time and it was very usefull. Still very usefull also. It doesn't bothers you with command lines and or separate installations. Just install MAMP and you will be done. When you will erase it all the data will be gone with MAMP.
Before i used it there wasn't a Mysql version for Leopard. But then MAMP came up and solved everything. What i'm saying is that MAMP team has a better support for Mysql on Mac OS X than Mysql Developers. Leopard version of Mysql was missing for a long time after Leopard came up and i don't know what i would do without MAMP.
So as a conclusion MAMP is a must downloaded software it you want PHP/MySQL on Mac OS X.
