[App Store] Cannot remove apps

I've been tring over and over to remove some appstore applications from my iphone but with no success. Is my understanding that by deselecting the Sync application button you'll delete the apps from the iphone. It's not my case. Some apps have been removed, some other are still there, no matter how many times I tried. Using 2.0 pwned Fw with itunes 7.7.0 .
Any advice !?!?!?

Press the application on the iPhone screen (like when you want to open the app). But hold your finger on the screen for a second or two. Now you can delete the app by pressing the X.

when u hold an icon for 2-3 seconds it starts to do a wiggle.......now do as above
