How to access AppStore on unlocked phone?

Hi folks,

I have an iPhone 2g unlocked with winpwn and whenever I try to install an AppStore app (even a free one) I get a popup saying "Authorization failed. Connect to iTunes".

I have created an account on Apples website and put in the right username and password.

Am I missing something? Does this not work on phones that haven't been officially activated?

make sure you have sync'ed your phone in iTunes AFTER you have created and logged into your account. iTunes transfers your current iTunes account info over to the phone when it's sync'ed.

i dont have any account with itunes -am i still need to sync to itunes - are u u sure this will lock my phone again?

You will have no problems with locking the phone by syncing it, you should follow jasonsmith advice ;)

Same story when downloading music, even before fw 2. If you scroll all the way down in one of App Stores sections it has to show you apple-id (store account id) on the bottom, otherwise you cant download anything. after syncing with iTunes connected to the iTunes Store you will find your id on the iPhone in iPhones applications "iTunes" and "App Store".
Will do no harm as jasonsmith said.
