I've had my time capsule since late may this year and have been using it happily with my macbook osx 10.5.4 since then with no issues. wireless network works great, back up works great...until this monday when i suddenly started getting an error message when trying to back up:
"Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copying files to the backup volume"
i did some research online and it seemed like a few other people have also encountered this problem and some were able to solve it by resetting their time capsules and restart the back up. it worked for me, for the initial backup that took over 12 hours to complete over wifi and then every hour after that, the backups were fine UNTIL i used my computer to browse the web, check the mail, etc. the error message popped up again. i cancelled the back up, closed all my applications and start backing up again. it actually worked! it backed up some 26mb of files and when it should have said "finishing", it said "preparing for back up"...
i got confused. i thought it just finished backing up? and it was just stuck at preparing for back up for over 10 minutes. i again stopped it, restarted my computer and every since then it just hangs at the preparing status.
is anyone familiar with this issue as well as on how to solve it? i'd appreciate it if someone can give me some pointers. Thank you.
