Problems with iTunes 7.7

I have installes iTunes 7.7, but when I plug in my iphone and start the software I get this message:

"This iPhone can not be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove itunes, the install iTunes again."

I did what this message said but I am still getting this message again. What could be the problem?

are you on a mac or pc? try uninstalling itunes then restart your computer and reinstall, or try a different computer and see if it works.

I am a PC.

try uninstalling itunes and close all processes involving itunes/ipod in the task manager, then restart your pc, DOWNLOAD it again and install.

How to Uninstall iTUNES....

Click Start...Control Panel...Add and Remove Programs..

remove all of these...

iTunes...Apple Mobile Device Support...AppleSoftware Update.

Back to desktop...Start..Search...All files and folders...type in....iTunes...Look in Hard Drives C:...Search.

remove everything about iTunes...keep your itunes music..

Back to desktop ...close everything and Empty Recycle Bin... RESTART Computer.

Download the NEW iTunes version that you would like.

If the problem persists try a different usb port

I had the same problem and reinstalled and everything seemed to go back to normal.

i hate that you have to have bonjour switched on just to browse the app store

check your apple update
you may be missing a program that runs with itunes.
the newer itunes need other programs for some things to work
such as bonjour

i cant post a new thread so i figure il ask here
in school i took a class called media arts
in this class we used macs
i started using this program called garage band
this is an easy program to make beats
and its one of the few i understand
so i was wonderin if i could get the exact same thing for my windows xp computer

please help
