[File Sharing] On/Off?

if i turn file sharing and internet sharing etc... all the options under SHARING, will my computer not show on others when connected to a network? or will it still show my computer

Well, Depends if its a Mac or a Windows computer. On a Mac it wont show, but on a Windows computer it may show your Mac but will not allow access, if it is in the same workgroup.

Turning off file sharing will indeed make the computer not show up, but you are never undetectable when actively using a network.
Remember, Bonjour (zeroconf) is always on.
