So I've got a new 3G iPhone and installed a few of the free apps like Facebook, Scribble and Bubblewrap.

They worked fine until I restarted my phone and then none of the externally developed apps work. I have to uninstall them and then reinstall to get them to work.

Anyone else have this problem?

<sorry about not being in the next gen forum>

yes, I started having the same problem last night. Although, I thought it had something to do with Synching my iPhone 3g. I wish I knew how to fix it!

You need to fix the application permissions. I only now how to do this on a jailbroken phone.

Enable SSH and log on to the iPhone using putty or another client.
Enter this command:

chmod -R 755 /var/mobile/Applications

This worked for me after trying everything else except restoring the phone.

You could probably do this using the terminal program from Cydia as well but I haven't tried that.

This sounds rather tedious. I'd suggest to restore your iPhone instead. You just got it so I'd assume you wouldn't have too much files in there.

For some reason,

I am experiencing the following --

All of the apps that I have like... news, pandora, IM etc.. ANYTHING that has to access the network crashes back to springboard immediately. However all of my other apps that don't require net access are working just fine...

anyone have any idea??

I did this: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showpost.php?p=343761&postcount=33 , and it worked. No restore or deleting apps involved. I had no music in the iPod app either.

Didn't work for me unfortunately..

All of my apps that require internet connection crash back to springboard immediately after starting up. It's really weird, and I definitely have connection...

yo super easy to fix!

just re-install your original mobileinstall if you had saved it!
then delete documents folder

then re-install crack mobileinstall and reset permission to 0775
and then recreate documents folder and reset permission to 0777

sync ur phone and it'll be working

happened to me each time i install using cracked mobileinstall which is annoying but it still fixes it
