I have a Airport Extreme and I am wondering if the following is possible.

I wish to connect the airport extreme to my wireless dlink N router(wirelessly) then have the airport extreme share the internet connection through one of the ethernet ports to an Xbox360 which is in a different location in the house.

I can get the Extreme to connect to the net through the dlink but can't get an IP address for the xbox.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is called cascading routers.

Your wording is kind of confusing to me, but this is what i think you want to do.

Internet->Modem->D-Link - wireless- >Airport->Xbox

In the D-Link, you need to assign the DHCP number of clients to something (20 should do)
Then you need to find what the first DHCP released IP adress is (it will be something like 192.168.0.100) -> You are looking for the lowest amount of the last set of digits (the 100 in the example).

You need to disable DHCP on the Airport and assign it an IP address outside the DHCP of the D-Link. (Set it to whatever the first DHCP release is in the D-Link plus 21) So for the example, if your gateway was 192.168.0.1, and the first DHCP released IP was 192.168.0.100, then the IP for the airport would be 192.168.0.121)

Keep the subnet mask the same (it should be 255.255.255.0)

A little sketchy, so if you have any questions email me or aim me. (both are scjohnson09 AT me.com

Hope this helps.
