[Advice] Continue to use my MacBook Pro while closing the lid ?

Hello All!

Is it possible to alter the sleep mode of a macbook pro so that I can close the lid while the system still runs? Occasionally I set my 15" macbook on a 20" monitor which is lovely but have to keep the lid slightly open and obviously this is wasteful!
Any ideas??

Hi, if you plug an USB Keyboard and a Screen (VGA or DVI) on it, it will switch to sleep mode when you close the lid.
Then just press the space bar and it will wake up and you can use it as a desktop computer :)

Thanks! That works a treat, might even treat myself to one of those funky bluetooth keyboards I`ve seen!!!

if you put the brightness all the way down it turns off the screen
