Minus the 30% that Apple liberated from that $10!!
Monkey ball has always been a tricky game, I can't wait to get it for my iphone. :D

If you give me your iTunes account email and password so I can try it I SWEAR TO GOD I will not buy anything, I will only download Super Monkey Ball, install on my phone and see if it really is impossible. This is just an option so dont flame me for trying help. I am a frequent user here at hackint0sh and would not do something to ruin my reputation (I am 9th in the forums with reputation, and 11th with post count I believe).

Man, that's pretty lazy. You didn't even make up some complicated story about a Nigerian lottery, just straight to the point.
Hate to break it to you, but "I SWEAR TO GOD" doesn't mean anything when you're nothing but a name and an avatar.

I guess that is kind of true lol But I was just trying to help him, and get Super Monkey Ball for free It was more of a joke. Because I am pretty sure he would have said no.
And maybe the 2.0 toolchain when released (is it released already?) will work if there is a different way to install. My PCs seem to hate the toolchain as I cant get it to work on 3 different PCs, all using XP SP2
Oh, and if somebody uploads the .ipa I could see if it works and the security thing is legit. ;)

I tried some more last night. I can't get past the fourth platform. The camera in this game is really bad.

Here is the SMB ipa i cant get it to work even when i edit the string..
if you have not heard of this method use winrar or on a mac stufit expander and archive the file and you see a few files edit the second one its a string open in notepad on pc or just open in property editor for mac and change it to your email and the price to 0 and zip back the 3 files and add the .ipa extension. Anyone able to do this. Stupid apple trying to rip us off, again.

its not working, because when you want to load a game, iTunes looks at your "shopping list" in the store, and when itīs not on the list, you canīt make anything with the file...
at least i think so ^^
to get it on the phone, we need to jailbreak it an transfer it manually

I am sorry, I didnt think about the XianLi. I was just thinking that sooner or later we will have to test the authentification methods Apple uses. It wont happen again :(

Yeah, I figured that. I'm not buying a single game. Except maybe Labyrinth. That's pretty fun and there's over 100 levels. I would've much rather spent $6 or $7 on that than $10 on this thing that pisses me off more than Crocs.
Now that devs can/are making money with the Appstore. Jailbreaking will be a lot less "tolerated" by Apple. I mean before it was just about installing 3rd party apps without apple "permission".
But now it would be about jailbreaking to get apps that cost money for free. Maybe apple is gonna take big measures to avoid/fight that. Only time will tell and I still want to see 2.0 jailbreak :) It will enventually happen in a couple of weeks.

It's not going to be that much of an issue. How many do you think jailbreak their phone ? I'm guessing far less than 5% of all iPhone owners. Just look at this forum, most of the people that have the knowledge, ability and willingness to jailbreak their phone AND find and upload to their phone cracked apps are hanging out in this forum. Now compare the number of members of this forum to the number of sold iPhones. 5% and I'm being wayyyy generous here.
Especially, since the majority of the apps costs less than $10, millions of iPhone owners won't bother and just pay it.
By the way, jailbreaking is apparently already done with pawntool. Cracking whatever DRM Apple has thrown in there is a whole different issue but I'm sure it will happen very soon.
So.... for you and me, we'll probably be able to install cracked apps in a few weeks but it won't have that much of an impact to either the developers or Apple.

Really! Let's just assume your numbers are correct and that 5% of the appox. 4 million iphones that have been sold are cracked. Not even taking into account the millions of more iphones that will eventually be sold. If you can assume that the average iphone user will spend, say $20 total on iphone apps, which I feel is more then generous. 5% of 4 million is 200,000 cracked users who will not be spending $20 at the app store. Right off the top of shady numbers that is 4 million dollars that will not be going to the developers or apple. I'm sure total losses will be closer to 15 or 20 million. Just think of how many people have say... sketches or blackjack or texas hold em' or tap tap revolution who will not be spending that money to get a new one at the app store. Trust me it does have an impact on apple and it certainly has an impact on developers who are not getting much money anyways. To just brush it off like that is crazy. These people are working hard to develop these programs and because its not money out of your pocket it "won't have much of an impact." Trust me it would feel like more of an impact if it was people stealing your work while you didn't get paid for it, as opposed to the other way around.
30% of 4 millions is like 1 million, peanuts for Apple.
As for the struggling developer, I'm sorry but it's still 5% at the worst. It won't make much of a difference to a developer if gets $1000 from his app instead of $950. Sure it is still something but not enough to make someone not develop something just based on that 5%. Summing all the money like that is irrelevant. Sure, if you take one cent from each living person you will get millions but will it matter that much to anyone else?
edit: And counting money for piracy by summing the number of users using something times the price is not the right way to do it. Look at windows, it has taken over the world because it got pirated so much (indirect benefits here). Would that have happened if piracy didn't exist? Probably not. I'm guessing only a small fraction of those users would actually buy it. Same thing for songs, people are downloading way more songs and albums than they would actually buy.
Back to the topic, I finally got this and finished Monkey island in the second try. I always was good at this type of games though.
My advice to you is to try and think ahead, if you wait for the monkey to move how you want then it's too late.
Example 1: if you want to move a little to the right just do a quick twist to the right and back to neutral, if you wait to actually see the monkey starting to move it's too late to slow it down again.
Example 2: at the levels where there are downhills, as long as you don't have to jump at the end, go down braking but "release the brake" and move to neutral position a little before you reach the end of the downhill platform, otherwise it will start moving backwards and the camera start rotating which makes things hard to control.
Overall, I think I'll enjoy the game, even though I just got it for show-off purposes. I do hate the camera rotations, I wish they'd keep the camera still, only showing where you want to go.

You are right i guess.
Just twist it fast and get it back to the neutral position.
But the another problem i'm facing now is the time limit.
The distance is just too far on the 10th level of the easy space case level.

what do u mean by level 7? like, still on monkey island? its hard as hell when u first play but it is most deff doable. i am on the last level, on hard, on the last stage. now THAT is impossible. its like, no borders, you have literally an inch of space, and you have to do a big turn with u actually having to go uphill on a thing with pretty much NO space

exactly. im on the hard mode of space case now.
as above said there re no barriers and its very narrow for the monkey to move.
i always die for a couple of times and need to continue once or twice to get to the next level. wanna take a break, switched to bomberman 1st
besides that im trying to unlock all hidden stages for each world now. =)

I finished all Battletoads levels -- no warp zones -- and kicked nasty princess' butt with Zitz.
Hover bike is piece of cake after you go all way up on Princess tower. :hack:
