the side buttons can't be used individually, they act as a single button when both are pinched together. It would be relatively simple to just assign back or forward to the "pinch" but you cant do both.

please stop bumping the thread like that, and as we said, if its not under keyboard mouse preffs, theres no way, maybe get another mouse for mac, one with 1 button.
