Bluetooth and international "+ Prefix"

Morning all,

I'm seeing one small issue with bluetooth once paired with the BMW handsfree unit in my car. Almost everything works as expected, just if I dial a number out of the phone contact list it shows without the + in front of the country code which in my case happens to be 49 (Germany) and therefore dials a wrong number.
Any ideas why and how to solve?

Apparently (according to another thread here) it's an issue with BMW and the iPhone. It just won't recognize the + sign. I have used the same contactlist with my SonyEricsson K800 and it worked just fine, so I'm going to check with my old phone how the numbers were represented.

I get a feeling that this could be solved in the iPhone, provided you know how to manipulate MobileBluetooth (which seems to be the one responsible for talking with the car).

I'll get back to you all.

when dialling an international number try dialling 00 instead of the + its the same but a little longer!

Known issue indeed. It's iPhone problem....

I have another problem! When I pair my BMW with iPhone I can make/receive calls only after paiting without switching car off. When I switch off the car and then back on, it finds the phone but trying to dial totaly crashes BT in car. Even icon dissapears. I have to restart car....Any1 has simmilar issues?

well it seems to work ok in my Audi :p time to make the change ?! ;)

Yes, I have the same problem. I have program V25.01 in my BMW, but I have the bluetooth model which don't show the signal strenght on the iDrive display.

My brother has the bluetooth modul in his BMW with this funciton (BMW Assist) and with this iDrive is it working without problems, except the "+" mark.

I hope it will be solved with some update from BMW or Apple :-o

I can confirm, that in v1.1.1 dialing with + prefix works on BMW! I just tried it! Sadly connection still works only first time iPhone is paired. If car is restarted bluetooth again dies on my BMW.

If this is right, then this is the onlyone reason for me to upgrade to v1.1.1
Can someone else confirm that firmware 1.1.1 corrected the + issue in BMW and Audi?

I can confirm that also my iPhone that was 1.0.2 now works OK on 1.1.1 when dialing numbers with "+" in front on BMW.

I did the upgrade to 1.1.1 last weekend and it works. Now my Audi see the "+" and now I can dial without any problem all my contacts stored in my phone with "+" symbol.
