OK, not sure if this has been asked or will even work!!
I am in the UK and currently have an iphone which is jailbroken and on the O2 network (not unlocked). With all the questions about unlocking the new 3G iphone, my question is can I order a PAYG 3G and just slot in my current sim and continue oin the same contract? :)
I know that sounds easy and the cost of the iphone will be more to buy but surely it would save money in the long run and would also mean that you're not tied into a 18/24 month contract - that is if you can use a pay monthly sim in a PAYG phone!!
Hope that makes sense!!

I have the same hope, but I think that the sim card in the pay and go iphone will be the only one that can be used. Hopefully there will be an unlock available but that will invalidate the warranty etc just like last time. I am hoping that there will be a good pay and go tariff for the iphone with unlimited data etc just like the contracts.

Surely, if we buy the pay and go version and unlock it. If we have any faults, we can restore it to original settings and they won't know about jailbreaking etc? Unlike the first gen (which only gives warranty if you activate the iphone, so restoring it will not be useful), since its pay and go, it should be fine.
What do you guys think?

I actually work for O2 in the PAYG department. Even we haven't heard anything about price points or PAYG tariffs yet.

Yeah the white one is nice. We probably wont hear about any details till a day or so before launch. I have my sneaky suspicions that the PAYG unit will priced at about £269. Any more than that and it starts getting too expensive, any less and it's a bonus :)

I hope you don't do what some O2 sales people did (bought loads of iphones at discount and sold them on ebay ) lol
