Well im not being funny, but ive been unlocking iPhones since it came out in america (im from the UK) and ive gone through 2 iphones unlocked about 10 and sold them all, but i will be moving to america in august for Uni and i am seriosuly thinking of going legit...on the contract
purely because it offers a great deal apart from the 18 month contract but i dont think ill be switching to windows mobile during that period!
But honestly i might even do it.....

I think all this lockdown has caused me and my friends to go legit and buy blackberrys with tmobile. This slap in the face will have me buying a blackberry curve or bold. I cant go ATT, there the devil.

att sucks so much that I prefer not having a cellphone at all, rather than switching

Im not sure what all this fuss over AT&T is... Something I may have missed but I have at&t and dont have anything bad to say about it. yes the iphone comes with the $20 a month charge but I read somewhere it is Apple that is getting $15 a month per iphone thru a legit carrier. I think at&t has been great for me on customer service, extremely helpful at the stores (just dont show then your iphone) I personally hate Verizon but that is from bad customer service from them repeatedly, Sprint is good but def AT&T is superior. second to T-mobile tho I am assuming.

$30 if you're talking about the iPhone 3G. and another $5 if you want text msgs. screw AT&T. it's known to suck ass here in the northeastern united states.

I always had cingular and now at&t, here in LA the service is actually pretty good... my cousin has T-Mobile and she is always complaining about coverage, I personally had bad experience with Sprint, but that was long time ago..
Anyway, if you want to have healthy plan with any company (I mean over 1000 minutes plus unlimited internet plus free long distance etc.) you should prepare to pay around 100$ a month (with taxes). I personally talk a lot and need minimum 1500 minutes a month ;)
