[Apple Mail] Problem Connecting Through Proxy

So, I have a SOCKS5 proxy set up on my localhost using 'ssh -D'. In the proxy settings under Network, the SOCKS5 proxy is selected and correctly typed in, along with my work's proxy for HTTP and HTTPS. Everything works fine through the proxies, except for Apple Mail 3.3. Supposedly, it supports connecting through the SOCKS5 proxy, but whenever I am here at work, the Mail application just says that my mail server cannot be contacted. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I guess there is a problem with AppleMail and had seen a fix for it too! But didn't pay much attention at it because I use Entourage 08.
I guess, you should Google it. You'll get the fix for it. :)
