Well, I guess all you need is an Apple Account which you will use on the Mac/PC on which you Sync your device... And a Credit Card / PayPal Account associated with your Apple account.

Thats it ! :)

I dont think you can use the iTunes Gift card but eventually you will be able to use it... ;)

So far, $10-20 per app, I'm sure there will be freeware and thousand dollar enterprise software that is sold.

In other news, TPB expects a sharp increase in traffic from
The US - July 11
70 Other Countries - Coming Soon

What a rip, many of the demo apps so far are not free.

Wouldnt that be a restriction for countries that does are not supported by itunes? Sigh...someone better figure out something for those folks!

If this was a perfect world, Apple would have set the bar by not allowing developers to charge for apps. Ideally, Apple would announce tomorrow that all music on the iTMS is free. If this was a perfect world, Apple + AT&T wouldn't be raising the data plan price to 30 @#$ing dollars a month. That would be 'thinking differently'.

...but no, Apple is just as greedy as any other company. It doesn't make them a bad company; more so, it surprises me that anyone expects any goodwill gestures from an organization that is specifically designed to maximize profit.

Oh, sorry, kinda just went off on a tangent, :)

AppStore is a dumb PAYIED copy of Installer. All they did was to steal the idea and make it payed. Same with all other applications out there. It's all about copying from the geniuses that made the apps for free

Yah no credit to apple for creating the software, the development tools, the interface, the phone, etc..

appstore was out of there realm of possibilities.

Credit does go to the guys over at installer and cydia for stimulating apple to launch the SDK, however, I'm pretty much sure apple will do it better because, well they built the phone and know all the inside outs...

anyone heard anything in addition to the Super Monkey Ball, MLB type stuff shown yesterday? Read about these guys in Business Week (http://youtube.com/watch?v=irXCMdRprfw) but is there a resource to check out what is coming up? People keeping mum?

Last I checked, Installer didn't have Spore, epocrates, Super Monkey Ball, etc.

I am pretty sure every single one of the Installer programs that can be ported over are free (like Steve Jobs showed in the March Keynote when he searched Backgammon...the game was free as it should be).

if you can buy from itunes with your iphone then you can access the appstore and buy there...
well in the keynote most of the apps they showed were for free accept for the games...and i dont think its that baad...you pay for pc games, phone games, psps games whatever..its normal...and SMB has over 100 levels so....but ebay and everything was for free....what i found really suprizing was that moo music's band, that is available for free with installer (but messed up my iphone a bit) will also be offered in the app store...and the developer was there at the keynote...

as far as i understand the iphone price cut will be repaid with the subscription plans at&t are gonna charge - as well as other countries worldwide - i'm guessing they will charge it through your phone bill... remember cellular companies charges for downloading ringtones... i think the same thing will happen here... only with the apps...

itunes doesn't have to turn worldwide... that's why they force an in-store activation from now on... yu won't need to activate your phone because your carrier will do it for you... everything will work through them...

my opinion anyways...

i doubt that they will charge through the phone bill
they want money, so they would be stupid to make the apps from the app store not accessable to every iphone...since there is installer, people with unlocked phones wont activate their phones just because they cant buy from the app store. and some countries dont even have the iphone officially so they couldnt even activate even if they wanted too!

From what I've seen so far less than half the apps are free, but most are under $10. But then you get into the ones like Netter's Anatomy Flash Cards that is $39.99
