Today I will start with some new 64Bit fixed sse3 kernels. Also the issue with sleep will be adressed. If Paulicat joins me this week I will add his speedstep patch in as well we will have a upcoming kernel for sse2 and speedstep!

You can get the new kernel builds at

irc.osx86.hu
in the #kernel channel

as usale.

Thanks!

This is something that needs to be addressed, I want to talk to Swad about this at some point, but obviously now is not the appropriate time.

Because it now became common practice even to fake my postings there. Power abuse in extrem.

What do you mean by fake
Hmm...my quote was censored too.

Btw: "clear" still crashes(bus error) with 1.5 and 1.6

Hmm... apparently I am not the only one who is concerned about these types of problems at InsanelyMac.

I just put a new build. Now it contains the HPET selector patches daemonES made and send me today (thanks for this!). I puzzled them into my code the last few hours, the product is now nd-2_1.

Great, I am looking forward to testing your new kernel for stability.

I will posting some detailed test results here later.

Great, I am very serious about doing some rigorous, compartive kernel stability testing here. But I will be waiting for you to complete your current development effort (there is no hurry either). I am also open to writing software to test kernel stability, so if anyone here has suggestions (or software) for ways to test kernel stability, I would like to here them.

Also, I only have BadAxe1/2 - Xeon 3060 hardware to test on now, so others with SSE2 and AMD systems (or other Intel chips) may wish to also participate for a comparision across platforms.

One more thing...

Lol nice one ;) I will be afraid if either Kevin Spacy or Stephen Baldwin show up on IRC lol.

Anyways if it comes to OSx security there are at minimum 2 security vulnerabilities I am aware of, still need to send a mail about them to Apple I think, so they can hopefulyl be fixed with 10.4.9 still

You know how to officially report bugs to Apple, right?: http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/

Apple is more likey to fix the security vulnerabilities if you clearly present them in well written English (I can help you with this if you want).

Thank you for the new kernel!! :-)

Hopefully it can address the sleep issue. Then the only issue left is making my darn cardbus works....heheh...

[EDIT] ever since mach_kernel nd 21 (March 10, 2007) Semthex has included HPET autodetection (provided by DaemonES)

and so your saying this kernal has 64bit support (for 64bit processors of course) right?

Semthex, are you saying Swad is faking your posts?

i know he is a dictator, but really couldnt believe it was so bold to do that...

BTW the healthly spirit of cooperationg in these forums are a good change from InsanelyMac...

Hey Everyone, quick question for Semthex. Can we still update our kernel using Prasys's easy update script or should we update using IRC?

Hello,

If you read the Praxsys's script, you should get the URL of the kernel archive (latest.zip).
In my case, the kernel binary was built at Nov 27 2006 so the script is outdated.
