I think we have all forgotten George Hotz (geohot). Shouldn't we talk about him for 3G bootloader, unlock for iPhone 2.0

to my knowledge geo has left the iPhone scene and joined the android community, lets just hope he comes back when iPhone 3G is released

i just hope he have the time cuz now he work at google...

anyway even if there is a hardware unlock this time, ill wait for the software one... no way in hell ill open another iphone voiding the waranty...

what would we do without this kid. unlocking 4.6bl was ingenious! and he knocked it out with such speed and mindblowing status.

hope someone steps up when 2.0 comes out. another waiting game i guess, but im sure someone will step up

Sign the ATT contract, after 1 month cancel saying you lost the phone and pay the ETF $175. So you iphone total will be $425. Unlock using Geo's custom boot loader method (Reading Geo's brain):D

Remote wiping is only possible if you use exchange to transmit emails/contacts/calender. So, it basically is a security measure to prevent transmission of sensitive and private details to others in case your iphone gets stolen/lost. These exist now with most blackberry phones in the market.

I can't afford that. 200+175+90 (AT&T's monthly fee for iPhone, am I right)....or even if it was 425 i still wouldnt be able to afford it.

lets go back to geo...i saw him on the news, a video on youtube, i didnt know he got on the national news and got 15k off his iphone. thats freaking crazy! No wonder he got hired for google. i wish him luck and i also hope he unlocks the new iphone..
