Hi, I unlocked 2 iphones.
When I turn on blurtooth just goes round and round, but doesn't find anything.

Trying to connect my Jawbone bluetooth headset.

Anyone know what I can do?

I have the same problem as do several other users.
I am willing to bet more people have the issue than know about it as they haven't tried to turn BT on yet.

What is the result of doing a restore in iTunes on our hacked iPhones?

I think it has to do with some software part that was installed during the unlock. My problem disappeared a bit later. Don't remember how!

I had exactly the same problem with one unlocked phone. Restoring through iTunes did solve the problem.

Thanks jaddorman.

what is the end result of an iTunes restore? Is is basically just a factory reset on all settings? Is music and email etc lost?

How long does the restore take?

And the most important question.....100% confirmed it wont affect geohot's method of unlocking?

It will fully restore the phone. So all data is gone, but your settings will be preserved and thus, after you synch for the first time all music is back. The restore takes a few minutes. Synching your data back depends on the amount of music/photos/video.

I held my breath throughout the whole process ;-)
I restored after the HW unlock and had no problems.

It depends which firmware you have. Detailed information on which combinations are safe or not can be found here:
http://iphone.unlock.no/#unlock-permanent

You will of course need to activate it again, but that is a piece of cake.

didn't work.

can now confirm restoring does the trick...as jaddorman advised.

I'm kind of reluctant to do a full restore over my freshly HW unlocked phone. Any other ideas what is causing this behaviour and whether there is another fix for that?

Try to turn the Flight mode ON and turn the phone OFF. Then turn the phone ON and try to enable Bluetooth (without manually disabling Flight mode). ->I'm not sure if the phone remains in Flight mode after reset.

Flight mode stayed on over the reboot, but unfortunately nothing has changed. When I try to enable BT in Flight Mode it says in order to enable BT I need to get out of flight mode and whether I want to this. If I click Enable the phone leaves flight mode, but then the BT wheel starts spinning again.

OK, I've got one more! :) Connect to iTunes and rename the phone to let say iPhone2, shut down iTunes. Connect via SSH, shut down SSH and perhaps try the Flight mode trick again.

Nope didn't work. But at least my phone has a descriptive name now...

My bluetooth broke, and removing termcap fixed it. I don't know how or why, but termcap was throwing errors during ssh login, and removing it fixed my bluetooth too.

You are saying that you just deleted termcap out of /etc?

/usr/local/etc if I remember correctly, but I removed it from /etc too just for good measure.
