View Full Version : [PwnageTool] mount disk0s1 failed?

When pwning the phone (1.1.4 3.9) I first get a lot of scrolling text about networking and stuff, but then the screen clears and types out the following message:

turbo autopwn launchd starting

then after a few seconds the following comes up:

mount disk0s1 failed

then the phone just restarts and boots up as if nothing had been changed. No new boot logo, no activation, no unlocking. At first I tried the Pwnage Tool on my already-unlocked 1.1.4, but after I got this error message I tried to restore it to plain old 1.1.4 without getting Pwnage Tool to work.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

EDIT: Oh, and Pwnage Tool tells me that it has successfully started "pwning" my iPhone before all the scrolling text comes up.

EDIT2: That's odd. After setting it to recovery mode and DFU mode a few times, everything works!

I am getting exactly the same thing! Please help!

EDIT: Ok... I just used iLibertyX to put the iPhone into recovery mode and this time the iPwner worked.

hmm good to see u are all working normally :D

But for any other readers, make sure u are not in DFU mode because in DFU mode the phone does not load the OS (which is on rdisk0s1), which is why it saying it can't load it
this is my theory I may be wrong :D

make sure your iphone has the 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 firmware installed with matching bootloaders and also do not put it in DFU mode...

Happens if your phone is already jailbroken and was not shut down properly. The root filesystem ends up being not clean, and Turbo's launchd is unable to mount it. A full normal restart and a clean shutdown, and then getting to recovery mode before the operating system even starts is the way to fix it. Setting / back to ro in /etc/fstab will also help.
