Or am I wrong? Are you Pwners out there installing Installer the olde way?

Just re-watched the video again and it looks like there's an Installer icon in Springboard when he boots up into 2.0...
so can successful Pwners out there confirm that Pwning does install installer?

Installer is already on a pwned iPhone. I've done it myself.

Cheers for that :) The next step would be to incorporate some kind of payload functionality, similar to iPlus/iLiberty+, so that apps/fixes/whatever can be slipstreamed into ipsws as well.
Kudos to the dev team :)

The chronic dev team (http://www.chronic-dev.org/) are working on a tool called ipsw builder. Check it out...

you only have installer on a pwned 1.1.4....on 2.0, theres no installer and no apps work. i can confirm this 100% i pwned 2.0 and downgraded back to 1.1.4

Well, of course! Firmware 2.0 has a "shitload" of changes to the frameworks that make even Installer.app incompatible. Installer.app doesn't exist because there are no apps to install compatible with 2.0

I can confirm this as well. There are no apps on 2.0. Not even the Neutering app.

Here is some info you should look at:
When the IPSW Builder is running, it will move items to /tmp/ipsw for later use.
While this is happening, one of the dmg files will be openable (mounts as a normal image, to be precise) and from there you can add applications to your liking. You must do this during this time:
-after PwnageTool's progress screen says 'attaching root filesystem to...' and
-before the PwnageTool asks gets your user password and starts patching and jailbreaking.
I saw this during a random run (the dmg file somehow was visibly open and I tried adding apps in an 'I wonder if I can do this..." moment) and it stuck.
Hope this helps.

That's cool, i'll do that! :D
What's the limit of it? I just want to put app patch for sms and some more little stuff..
Do you know if it needs the youtube fix, safari cookie fix, etc?

That I have no idea on a precise limit, but the dmg file seems pretty limited in free space (like 30ish MBs). YMMV on that.
I can't tell about the youtube fix since I already have a valid activation to use. If it needs the Safari cookie fix... I will be checking on that probably when I get up (I've been up for several hours, need rest).
