Hello......

Nay news, miso??
SAME SAME SAME problem here!!
And same symptoms!
I successfully hardwareunlcked my phone and it was perfect. All outgoing calls were perfect. I used my new unlocked phone for over a week.
The same symptoms as miso1931 has, came up yesterday, when i 1st tried to downgrade fomr 1.02 to 1.00 (no success) and then used that batchfile for activating youtube. Youtube was working great, but then came the problem: suddendly NOW SOUND on outgoing calls: as soon as the other party picks up, no more sound! I then press the "speaker button" twice, and the sound is comming out again and i hear the other person.
No problems with invoming calls.
Please HELP, as iīam sure that itīs not a hardwareproblem, as it was working great vor over a week after der HW-unlock!
Tried also to restore, but NO LUCK !!
apologize my bad english. thnx

thnx for your feedback linusmax.
we havr to find the reason for this problem, as i know itīs NOT hardware related, because, as i explained, right after the harwareunlock and after jailbreaking and activating with independence 1.0, everything was fine.
im not sure what else i did, but fact is that after jailbreaking it again yesterday on a windows machine and trying to get youtube to work (successful) , the Problem apeared.
again, as said, the only "strange thing" i did, was trying to restore to 1.0 form 1.02 - DID YOU try something similar?
and is there any "HARDER" reset than the restore to 1.02 ? maybe we just have to wipe everything??
thnx

Another Test I did:
did a full restore to 1.02 with iTunes. without jailbreak, without activation. No fancy tools at all, and even no simcard inserted. I tried to make a 2secs-short emergency call (sorry guys ;) ), and.... SAME PROBLEM!
that leads me to think that we have really screwed up (but HOW??) something important like the radio stack, or i dunno...
NEW problem discovered: also INCOMING sms are not working anymore. sending works fine.
I hate this because everything was working great right after the hw-unlock.. :( :(
I dont know if this will help, but just in case - try connecting your iphone earphones into the headphone jack and using them to do something audio related like making a call. And disconnect them and try again. This (or something like it) seemed to fix an issue I had with audio this morning, and helped a guy on IRC just now as well with a similar problem...
I suspect that an update through Installer.app of either: BlackJack, Dock, Mines or NES.app caused the problem
procyborg
09-04-2007, 03:41 PM
Thanks for your hint, unfortunately still the same issues...
when i make a call with headphones connected, it happens the same as without headphones...
iīve used the installer.app, but only for the BSD subsystem. did not (ever) install BlackJack, Dock, Mines or NES.app...
And IF something like installer.app caused the problem, shouldnīt that desappear after a full restore?
but as said iīm happy for every though/idea/hint

Hi
I am sure it's not hardware problem because I use TurboSIM before I make hardware unlock and the problem was there.

interesting... you had the problem even before turbosim? oh, maybe u dont know... anyways... we know now that itīs not hardware related...
i write down a short list just to compare what we did with our phones:
- bought iphone from ebay (new) already activated (dont know with which method)
- upgraded to 1,01
- jailbreaked and activated again (after restore) with iactivator
- upgraded to 1,02
- jailbreaked and activated again (after restore) with iactivator
- Hardwareunlocked by geohot with no problems or errors
- restored to 1.02
- jailbreaked and activated again with iactivator.
--> everything fine incoming sms and outgoing calls with no issues - good voice quality, synced with itunes, wlan fine bluetooth fine, made a lot of calls for a week
--> from here on i tried the last thing that didnīt work: YOUTUBE
- tired different youtube hacks, AND TRIED TO RESTORE TO 1,00 -> got an error
- not able to get youtube working
- found out that the "one click PC youtube guide" (here on the board) is not compatible with iactivator for mac.
- so jailbreaked, with pc, activated iphone and youtube with that one-click guide.
--> WAS HAPPY cos everything was working. wlan, youtube, bt, mail.
--> it was late, went to sleep, and next day i had "OUR" issues with incoming sms and non workink speaker with outgoing call.
ANY similar thing you guys did with your phone?
cheers

but as i wrote i have the issue also right after restore without activation! i tried that with a fast 2se. emergencycall (no sim inserted)
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP :( I offer 50$ via paypal to who finds the reason/solution
Can you describe everything you do post-restore to make the phone work for you again? I noticed above that you said you used iActivator to activate your iphone after restoring to 1.0.2, but I though iActivator only activates with 1.0 and 1.0.1. Have you tried using the latest iNdependence to activate the phone?
Also, you mentioned downgrading to 1.0 then back up to 1.0.2. - I thought that doing this undid the hardware hack - is that what happened with you? If so, did you re-open the phone to perform the h/w hack a second time?
procyborg
09-09-2007, 02:47 AM
thanks for your hints.
well i used independence , (not iactivator) - that was a typo (so mentally replace iactivator with independence for that post). Independence was , and is, working well with 1.02, and it activates my iphone perfectly each time i use it.
i wrote that iīve TRIED to downgrade to 1.0 - but without success. i managed it once to downgrade do 1.01, but that didnīt help either. so now im still with 1.02.
Why do you think that the problem is activationtool-related? i dunno - but i donīt think so, because as i said even the with emergency-call-test right after the restore (without activation) iīm having the problem.
apologize my english please ;)

tried 5 different sim/operator. always the same... a user geve me a hint to replace the lockdownd file - but that didnīt help either. 5 different sims (restore each time between sim swaps) : still no incoming sms and the sound issue as descibed. iīm desperate. iīm about to buy a new iphone, but i then it turns out as a simple software-issue, that maybe could happen again with the new device, iīll eat my balls...

Just wanted to say, that we have the exact same problem here. Only thing we did differently was to HW unlock the phone on 1.0.0 and then upgrade to 1.0.2 . Maybe the update is causing the problems.
Hi risotto! We made the same mistake. I think that's why we have the problem.
We made HW unlock on 1.0.0, i think this is big mistake! We should unlock it with 1.0.2.
My problem, no incoming sms.

nope - i donīt think so. i have the same problem, but did the hw-unlock with 1.02.
My story (i'll not mention countless numbers of activations, restores, restores, activations, restores - you know what i mean)
1) i bought my iphone and i fall in love :)
2) upgrade to 1.0.1
3) HW hack - no problemo
3a) panicking about 1011 error
4) after ordering Turbo SIM, i run bbupdater -f "the_right_file", then restore to 1.0.2
5) from this moment, phone don't accept even AT&T card as "valid"
6) after some playing around (like 5 times updating with bbupdater...) i lost my IMEI!
7) tried downgrade to 1.0.0 - software went ok, but bb modem firmware downgrade failed
8) crying on hackintosh for few days
9) today i was comparing my original NOR dump and new NOR dump, i found, that all differencies lies in between of NOR file, which iUnlock will use, so.. i used it!
10) everything run smooth, until... minicom! after AT+CLCK command i've got Error. but...
11) after puting my local SIM card inside... it's working! holy shit! i'm fucking lucky guy! (my coleague was staring at me, why i'm not happy - i was so surprised, because i didn't expected, that it will realy work!)
12) but - no incoming SMS and problem with outgoing sound.
Sooo... Was someone so brave, that he tried to put inside original firmware from NOR dump? it's necessary to "cut out" the right part of from this file, but then don't modify it. I'll try it tomorrow, i have Turbo SIM in my pocket, so my "holly grail" so to put iPhone to FACTORY state.
What is VERY confusing me, that i don't need to use those AT+CLCK commands - it seems to me, that this settings SOMEHOW survived all my restores and bb modem reflashing.

What I can say so far is, that a software restore won't make this problem go away. It rather seems that it is firmware related with the baseband. I have made a dump of all the system files of the phone's firmware and compared them to a working phone's dump. diff -r didn't show me any signifficant differences between the two firmwares. It seems like the problem must be originating from the baseband's firmware. I really have no clue though what exactly could be done to restore the baseband to a working state. So basically, what went wrong is that we made the hardware unlock with the 1.0.0 baseband version and then, after the unlock, upgraded to 1.0.2. This seems to have caused the problem.
If anyone with a little more insight could help us, that would be great!

I solved the problem and now no issues at all include incomming SMS
Steps
1- launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
2- bbupdater -f ICE03.14.08_G.fls
3- bbupdater -e ICE03.14.08_G.eep
4- launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
the IMEI should change to something like 004999010640000 and the iPhone will not accept any SIM if not start from step 1 again:mad:

Ok, i take it you've found the solution and if i do this it'll work. But im a bit of a newbie and theres something i dont understand: Where and how do i type in all these commands? could someone run me through the "basic" process until the point where i have to type all of these commands?
Also, do i need to have my SIM in the iPhone while i do this? Can i do it with firmware 1.0.2? Should iTunes be open while i do this?
Thank you all...:)

Hi Miso1391!
Do you have any idea how this method would work on a phone which is unlocked using Turbosim? if the IMEI is changed in step 4, will this break anything? Because surely we would not have to re-unlock using step 5 since the turbosim would still be in place which tricks the phone into thinking that the SIM is an AT&T sim and therefore it remains unlocked? At worst we'd have to re-jailbreak and re-activate?
Any pointers appreciated on behalf of Turbosim users who get no voicemail SMS :)

Yes, it's also not clear if this solution just fixes incoming SMS for those who were getting NO SMS's beforehand, or whether it actually fixes the voicemail-notification and other strangely-formatted text messages not being received issue...

will this fix my problem if i sometime get sms only? I don't get all of my sms, does this solve it?
Don't link files containing any part of Apple/Infineon copyrighted material as FLS or NOR. The distribution of it is a violation of copyright which we cannot allow. Even if we allow you many things, copyright infrigment is something we not want to see around here.
If you want to do step 5, obtain the proper fls and a NOR bin yourself and use the tool you can get here:

Software require:
1) bbupdater
2) ICE03.14.08_G.fls
3) ICE03.14.08_G.eep
Step 1: Use iBrickr to install Mobile Terminal to your iphone
Step 2: Use iBrickr to upload bbupdater, ICE03.14.08_G.fls, ICE03.14.08_G.eep which you have downloaded earlier to usr/bin/ directory on your iPhone
Step 3: Open mobile Terminal at your iphone and type cd /usr/bin/
Step 4: Type the below command at your iphone
1) launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
2) bbupdater -f ICE03.14.08_G.fls
3) bbupdater -e ICE03.14.08_G.eep
4) launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
Step 5: Do the unlock process again. Im using below Carlos method to unlock:

And:

- If you dont have 7.4.1.2.
To Check your firmware version check here: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8221 (thanks gaz919)
First off, I am doing this as a "From Box to Unlock" method. If you've f'ed up your iphone using some other method, i may be able to help, but this is what i have done, now 14 times, without a single issue.
Rule #1 - READ ALL INSTRUCTION STEPS BEFORE DOING THEM.
Rule #2 - have fun with your unlocked iphone.
1) Open Box. take out iphone... it should turn on...Turn it off (red slide).
2) Check to make sure itunes is ver 7.4.1.2. If not download it.
3) Close itunes. make sure ituneshelper is terminated in processes under the task
manager.
4)(if you already have 1.0.2, plug your iphone into your pc and skip to step 7. If you have 1.1.1 Donate to the Dev team, and wait a little while.) Plug usb cable into PC. plug other end in iphone, and as soon as the gray apple appears, hold power button and home button down at same time. Keep holding the buttons down. your iphone will reset itself 2-3 times before you get a yellow triangle.
5)Open itunes. It will say it needs to restore your iphone. Hold the Shift Button and hit restore. Select the 1.0.2 firmware you downloaded above. This should take about 5 minutes(depending on pc i guess)
6) Wait for everything to finish, and it is back on the activation screen.
7) Close itunes. open up AppTapp. Click continue. Select 1.0.2. Hit continue.
****this is very important... i have seen were AppTapp hangs...it will say that it is copying files, but never does, or it will go thru it very fast...3 seconds or so, and says it is done...IT IS NOT. The way you can tell it actually works is if your iphone restarts and goes to the yellow triangle screen, then back to the activation screen.***(Also... AppTapp will complete, but the status bar won't be all the way over to the right. This is fine, just a bit of bad coding.)
8) Close AppTapp. Open PAYCAY, run the (CLICK HERE) activate.bat. it will start to copy files to your iphone. it will also activate your itunes. Follow the instructions on the screen...when it tells you to restart your phone turn your phone off(red slide). Leave it off for about 15 seconds, turn it on. you should now see the springboard(not the Waiting for activation screen). ( I have had some questions about the Lockdown file being replaced... if you wacth the script run, you will see it do it for you.)
9) Open iBrickr. Click applications. Install the installer.pxl. follow these instructions on screen very carefully...you will have to completely restart your iphone twice during this process.
10) Go back to main screen on iBrickr, and press applications. Click file, select the Unlock-fast.pxl. Install it, and it will soft boot your phone when done.
11) keep phone connected to pc, move slide to get back to springboard. press the unlock icon near the bottom of the screen. press start ONCE!..wait... when it says complete at the top, press home button. Turn off iphone. take out ATT sim, hold it in the air and say " This sim has been freed by The Liberator! AKA CarlosValdosta!!!"
12) Put in your sim, make sure that the slanted edge is in the right way.
13) Turn on your unlocked iphone.
14) Use iBrickr to remove the unlock.app. ( go to applications. look at fake iphone on right...click on little red circle next to unlock.app
