Hello to all,

I have rencently acquired an Ipdo interface for my JVC Car stereo ( KS-PD1000 ).

When hooking my iphone, my receiver displays "CHECKING" and nothing else.

Iphone displays the standard " device not made for iphone do you wish to switch to airport mode " but feels ok ( Ipode docked mode) when going through the warning message.

Do anybody knows of a trick to make the JVC work with Iphone ?

I tested others car receiver at a reseller ( pioneer , sony ) and they accepted & played music from the docked Iphone, only my JVC seems to keep displaying "checking"

Any help apreciated

If your JVC car Stereo is Ipod ready, it's should atleast play.

Hello and thanks for the replies .

My JVC car audio is Ipod ready, indeed .

I wonder if any hardware mod on the dock pin 21 could do the trick ?

JVC support remained silent and did not reply to my requests concerning this issues.

Their system 'should' deal the iphone like an ipod , and control it like a cd changer, but hey, it doesn't work, it displays iPod and keeps flashing 'checking'.

As other brands worked, I assumed it would work with the jvc I owned (could'nt test it before) . I'd rather buy another system, resell the adapter, and give the JVC to someone in my familly.

Same problem here. JVC's interface cannot handle it.

Just an update there :

I went back to my store with a new purchase in mind ( remember i tested sony and pio which worked ? )

Guess what, neither worked correctly Again no matter how hard i tried !

Only the pionner was ok on browsing Ipod content but only played at 1% volume, which needed to crank the pioneer volume to it's nearly maximum before hearing something, not acceptable...

One Alpine ( tested €150-€500 models and it was in the cheaper range ) eventually played content but rapidly gave an "error 101" and froze

I now realise the sony units worked at the store with firmware 1.01 and now i have 1.02 it's a no go ( stuck on "PD1" display, frozen )

Did the 1.02 update made things worse on the ipod docking solutions ??

BUT BUT BUT :

I followed the instruction on my JVC booklet in order to setup the changer input behaviour ( should be "CD CHANGER" for Ipod KS-PD1000 according to the manual ) but put it on AUX YeeEES ! Sound from my Iphone songs went through my JVC :D

I'ts a Half-half solution, but it works ( no control via the JVC though, everything must be done on the Iphone Ipod Interface, but, hey ! I'ts better than nothing.

Still waiting for apple to fix these things, maybe could they add some kind of "ipod compatible mode " layer, with an activation button somewhere in the interface, in order to make third-party products "believe" they're wired to a real "well-known" Ipod ?

Still dreaming !

Hey, not sure if anyone still tracking this topic, but just opened the connectors for ipod control on my wifes truck (jensen touch screen stereo, works perfect wth iphone), and my caliber (pd-1000 jvc unit which only works as aux input).

After thinking I could mimick the wiring from the truck to the caliber and get mine to work properly, I revealed that the Jensen is using USB to talk to the phone, and the pd-1000 is trying to use firewire, and I really doubt there is a way to make the firewire pd-1000 use usb, this basicalloy means it AINT ever gonna support the iphone, sucks, now guess I'm gonna look for an alternative, how can JVC in there right mind in this day and age in a relatively new product stick to friggin using firewire?

You have to go into "AIRPLANE MODE" to play the music.

It took me a long time to figure this out, but here it is hope it helps!

Im using a jvc avx810 video head unit

1.Go to ebay buy a A2PD adaptor for $25

2. turn off bluetooth

3. plug adaptor into iphone

4. search for device on head unit

5. turn on bluetooth after it starts to search ( you may need to search a couple times till it finds it)

6. enter 0000 as pair number

7. enter it on your iphone( it may give you "connection error") just keep trying

8. It will connect!

Good luck I just did it so I know this works,

its the same process as connecting bluetooth headphones to the iphone
