Hi,

I acquired a Mac Mini this weekend but I have problem maximizing the dvi output on my Toshibao 37" 3030DG LCD television. There are still space to the left and to the right which needs to be filled out, but it cannot fit the entire screen.

My max. resolution is 1450x1080 - 60Hz
My Mac mini is 1.42GHz with 512Mb ram and Radeon 9200

Can anyone shred some light on my problem, please? Thanks.

1440x1080 is a 4x3 ratio (can be used as anamorphic)

You must check if your TV is recognized by the Mini itself, in Display Preferences you should see its name or model number. But if it says VGA Display or something similar, t means your TV doesn't send its specs to the mini and the mini can't build an appropriate "Display Override" for it, so the Mini doesn't know what are the standard resolutions supported by the TV and gives you a list of all the resolution it can display.

You are using a DVI to DVI cable right ?

Check if your cable is a DVI-D or DVI-I, if it is only DVI-A that's probably the reason why it is not working.

DVI-A = uses the RGB Analog Channels.
DVI-D = uses the RGB Digital Channels.
DVI-I = uses Both Digital and Analog Channel.

Let me know how it goes. ;)
