You do realize it takes a little longer than a day to actually write an app once you have an SDK, unless you are a programmer, then I guess its exciting.

Jobs will be discussing the SDK tomorrow (6th March) at the Special Event... but this doesn't mean it will be released tomorrow!!!
On the same note, he has said there will be a lot of 3rd party apps available this SUMMER... so either he thinks it will take a long time for developers to write applications or the SDK won't be release just yet!

Tomorrow's event is merely going to discuss the eventual release of the SDK. Apple really dropped the ball on the deadline here. Most believe that we will at least get some kind of a beta, but that just screams un-Apple to me.

call me stupid... but what is SDK???

SDK=Software Development Kit, basically it is a program or set of tools that allow developers to make programs to run on the iphone.
All the native programs you see available already (Installer, etc) are all developed using the dev team's "Toolchain" which is somewhat an unofficial SDK...

may the sdk would work on windows plattform??

The "unofficial" one has a windows version afaik.
I don't know what Apple's usual attitude on SDK's is regarding windows, but I'd guess it wont....

Did somebody realized the new apps icon is very similar to the "installer" icon for jailbreak?
What a coincidence... :^)
So you think lots of devs will just move to iphone SDK? I like the idea that some will be free, plus the new apps look very promising, but what about the SSH to the phone, and the unlocking? any thoughts?
Cheers

SSH may become obsolete with the SDK as developers will most likely need some form of remote command line interface so I'd expect something from Apple. Hopefully SSH will live on though.
