I don't know what happened, but I have always done excelent jailbrakes in the past wth iActivator. Last night, I tried replacing the three youtube files, to fix youtube. Then I return it to jailbrake. Everything was cool except that the youtube method didn't work for me. So I was going to restore my original files and now iActivator won't jailbrake and tells me that my iPhone is not activated and displays this message after I tried jailbraking: "FAILURE Error writing modified fstab to phone" and even worst, my iPhone doesn't show up in iTunes now... so, what can I do now? iPhone still acts normally in my hand, but when I connect it to my mac, I can't do nothing! Even reactivating the iPhone with iActivator didn't work... Help please!!!
thanks in advance!

I had the same problem, and the only way is "restauration" ...
Press homme and power button until you see the yellow restauration icon (more than 25s).

Yup, got to do the whole homme thing. Seriously though, if anything goes south with jailbraking and you dont/can't look under the hood, then your only sensible option is to do a full restore.. :(

I know, it sucks, but then if you are tinkering with the device which (lets be honest) that apple really doesn't want us tinkering with then you have to go into it with eyes wide open :-)

ok, I just restored, thanks for your help guys! it worked!
yeah I know MetalRat, you are right, besides I'm not very good in terminal so that may helped with my mess up...oh and the fact that the youtube fix has to be done with the SIM inside the iPhone (not specifically explained in the instructions), mine was outside...so that mess up things too. Good thing is that there were lessons learned. I'm just hoping for someone with a better solution to fix youtube and yahoo email. not that I will die without them but they will help me a lot with my entertaiment and well, my second email!
Thanks again for your help to both of you!

Let me ask a question here because Im lost on why people keep jailbreaking the phone multiple times. You do realize you only have to do it once right? Dont need to jailbreak it everytime you want to putfile or getfile something right?

Ive jailbreak'ed it once and since then can use iPhoneinterface to connect to grab files, put files, etc. Never have to do anything else. I think many people are jacking it up because they jailbreak multiple times when it is not needed.

Except that if you get out of jaibreak, then the file system is now read-only, and you can't modify anything anymore. And that I don't think leaving your iPhone in jailbreak mode is safe.

That's why performing multiple jailbreak is required
