How to make a 64gb iPhone (the idea)

ok its just an idea, not an actual "how-to", but anyway, more than nothing.

thanks to erica saduns playaudio ( http://www.tuaw.com/2007/08/17/play-audio-urls-from-the-iphone-command-line/ ) we have a commandoline app that can play audio thru URLs. this is a pretty huge step.

what else is needed?
a server, installed on the main computer with the huge (64gb, 200gb, 12gb, or whatever) music library, that let an iphone access thru a secured line its library.

the iphone app loads the iTunes library from the server, and can play the files via commando line.

how is this idea? too farfetched or in possible reach?

very possible, but you can already do this through iphone-remote, aka telekenisis.

although it's just a web app, a native telekenisis client would be closer to what you're talking about

cool, didnt know that applications, and its kind of the same feature with the streaming of audio.
although a nativ app would be better since you could take advantage of some more things, like playing the audio even thou the app is closed etc.

I use that combo of handbrake/isquint and I love it.

It converts DVDs into very nicely compressed / high quality movies on my phone.

It would however be great if there was an easy 3rd party way to stream these onto my phone ala the youtube app.

The files are compressed in the same format, so I don't see why streaming would be too difficult to implement.
