no one cares about us since the SW unlock is out. perhaps our phones are really irreparable. WE ARE LOST AND OUR IPHONES ARE GARBAGE !!!!
4 weeks ago geohot told us that there is no SW unlock in the near future. we have bricked our phones and now there is the easiest unlock ever available.
i am FRUSTRATED!!! 400 bucks blown away :D

I found what the problem was with my bricked phone, I suspect it is tv same problem that you all have. The problem with mine was that the line used for the testpoint was broken and did not allow the iPhone to erase or reflash the baseband. A friend of mine using a special camera to zoom in was able to reconstruct track 17 after that I restored my iPhone to 1.1.3 and then took it back to 1.1.1, jailbreaked it an unlocked using gunlock. Hope this helps, I know how you guys feel, I really was very frustrated until I found the problem. Please write if it works for you.

It looks like you have the sema problem i had, as i understand line A17 is the one that allows the chip to be flashed or erased, that is why your log stops when trying to write the nor. Mine was badly broken so my friend had to solder a very thin wire to rebuild the line, find somebody that can do that and i'm sure you will bring your bricks back to life. Good luck

hello,
ok the next step is now to find someone who can solder this trace for me cause i don't touch the commboard anymore
this HW unlock seems to be a never ending story
there is a pretty little one-click-solution app for windows out now to unlock the 1.1.2/1.1.3 OTB (www.sendowski.de). did 2 iphones with this for friends. each took 3 minutes to unlock. and mine ???? GGGGRRRRRRRR I AM FRUSTRATED
ok always looking forwards....we can make it !!!
please post your success (or failure but i dont hope so).

As a last resort you can buy a new comm board. I bought one and it fixed my iPhone that had the same symptoms. You need to be able to solder the three battery wires on and off though, or get someone to.

hi ibroken,
wow on radioshack.com they sell a circuit writer link (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104395&cp=&sr=1&origkw=trace&kw=trace&parentPage=search).
if the top of the writer is really fine then it is the best repair tool and its really cheap. in germany you pay around 40 $ for a writer like that. that is why i have ordered the silver lacquer.
anyway i dont know your detailed symptons. mine are "spamming AT", error 1011when restoring to 1.1.3 (which is a connection error) and i can see it in the restore log file that the baseband cannot be restored. these are all symptoms of a broken trace. and you have seen the picture of my trace. it seems to be really really broken. so this is the last chance before ordering a new commboard....

So you haven't tried to repair it yet? Those are the same symptoms that I am getting.
Also, when i go to field test mode, the only thing selectable is versions and in there it says firmware is blank. (*3001#12345#* send)

I repaired my trance and it didn't work.
I think it only works if you haven't restored to 1.1.3 before.
I restored to 1.1.3 at somepoint, before I attempted the HW hack. SO I hope teh 1.1.4 will fix it.

I think one way to repair our hpones is to mod the gehot's bootloader downgrader. the thing that stops it for haults the process ont a hpone in our situation is that the program "checks" to see if the bootloader is the proper one for it to downgrade (4.6). if someone removes that part of the script then I think it would rewright the bootloader.

hi p01s0n,
how many attempts did you need to get the testpoint work?
2 times
i have also tried it with unbrick112 but stuck at "spamming AT...".
I think this message is because you fail the testpoint ...retry... or maybe the trace is still broken ?
and how did you repair the trace? what tools did you use?
please reply...
gianni
a copper based paint... but i think my trace wasn't hardly broken...
The unbrick112 worked for me... and i was in the worst situation possible with no IMEI, no ICCID... nothing...every firmware (1.1.1/2/3) 1011 error, unable to downgrade to 1.0.2 and ziphone absolutely not working...
Now i have a fully functional phone with imei, iccid, wlan etc.etc.
So i think this is the way... retry the testpoint ;)
and good luck !

im also in the process of trying the Unbrick112 method.
Phone is 1.1.1OTB
No IMEI, ICCD, Baseband, Wifi present.
Needs Repair Screen
Error 1011 when restoring to ANY version fw (102,111,112,113)
Ive tried every conceivable other method possible and all failed to jailbreak/unlock/activate the phone. (ibrickr, apptap, winstaller, pacay, independence, ziphone (all versions))
Unbrick112 was the first to give some results!!!
@ 1.1.1 it jailbroke the phone but no VT terminal installs
@ 1.1.2 it jailbroke the phone AND vt term was present  :D
Note: Not sure if the the version of VT term thats being loaded to the phone or the phone itself thats making vt term act screwy but, not only does the backspace button not work (as documented in the readme file), but once the text field within term fills up, the text continues on the following text field bellow, but with a huge space between the last character on the previous field and the one im about to type. It seems to be only a ...display issue thou as seemingly Commcenter unloads fine (i get one return after executing)
I got as far as unloading comm center last nite, but had to get to sleep, so i didnt have enough time to take apart the phone, and rewrite the BL....
Things ive tried:
IENEW returns an error
IUNEW -please connect tespoint
BBupdate -v returns an error.
QUestion about IENEW - that erases the BL, correct? Is erasing the BL absolutely necessary (given the error), or will rewriting the BL overwrite the existing (corrupt) BL regardless?
Ill try more later today, if this works successfully ill make sure to document the steps along the way.

I didn't used the 1.1.4 firmware... EVERY firmware failed on my iphone with 1011 error...
You have to do another testpoint (if you have already done one...)...
I just downloaded ibrickr112 and followed step by step the README included in the package...
The file is here http://www.rapid$hare.com/files/93492163/unbrick112.zip.html
I don't know if this will work also for you but mine situation was one of the worst situation possible with nothing working (IMEI etc.etc.),week 50 (so undowngradable to 1.0.2),baseband broken (repair needed), no programs like iPhuc, Ziphone, iBrickr, Apptap usable...

hi guys,
what do u think about that?
hi all,
I think i have the same problem as yours which without bootloader. As i'm not familiar to unassembly my iphone and do the hardware A17 testpoints, is there any method to modify Sara's zibri.bat with below methods? I'm not sure its work or not but I would like to try.
Software downgrade bootloader
http://acujo.com/tutorials/how-to-do...software-only/
Rewrite a customize bootloader
http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/2008/...s-to-come.html
I'm able to use Sara's unbrick112 but stop at "Spamming At, waiting for a response".
imucat (week 44, OTB1.1.1)
1) No wifi, unknown IMEI, unknown ICCID
2) Error 1011 no matter restore to any firmware in DFU or Recovery mode
3) Unable to jailbreak 1.0.2 after tried update firmare to 1.1.3, stop at "reboot in recovery mode"
4) Stuck at "Spamming AT, waiting for a response" by Ziphone
what is the gbootloader? can u write any BL you want?

its mentioned on the previous page.
Well I tried it and everytime I try to test point it, it gets stuck at spamming AT. I know my trace is good, I looked at it under a microscope (cheap radioshack)
Anybody ahave the same issue and got it to work?

Nope. I've tried like 15 times now. My trace might be broken somehow. Even though I looks under a microscope (cheap radio shack, so not saying much). I tried repairing it with a trace repair pen i got a radio shack. Its a glue like solution with silver flake in it (can see that its flake under the crappy microscope.
I did notice that when i restore to 1.1.2 It takes an extremely long time to finish (throw an error) for the firmware portion. Sometimes it won't through an error, it just stays at the restoring firmware screen forever, or until I unplug it. It doesn't do it to either 1.1.1 or 1.1.3. Strange.

Bro,
Reflash the Bootloader 3.9 again might help... Maybe your iphone get a not proper bootloader. Try to reflash again.
downgrade bootloader with software - click here (http://acujo.com/tutorials/how-to-downgrade-your-bootloader-with-software-only/)

Everytime i downgrade to 1.0.2 and use ibrickr to jailbreak the phone, it goes into an endless boot loop. Pacay says its done, but its not jailbroken when it reboots. App tap installer freezes, Winstaller same thing....
Is there any other way to transfer the files to the phone?

but... is it possible to reflash the bootloader 3.9 again if you already are on 3.9bl? I'm in the very same situation. I'm on 3.9 but i think it's corrupted... but I don't know if I can reflash it through software without totally bricking my iphone.

After another failed attempt with pins. I got frustrated and decided to try the solder method. I scavenged some magnetic wire from a old PC fan that I had lying around.
I made sure that I soldered everything correctly by using my crappy microscope.pictured here
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/ak-z/Picture073.jpg
and soldered point here (taken with my other iphone and the microscope. view is inverted because of microscope.

ran everthing to the T. (surprised that I didn't make any typos)
and still stuck at "spamming AT". so I am convinced that there is something else wrong with the commboard. perhaps its corrupted at a different point in the BL.. idk. I'm sure that many of you are experiencing a similar issue.

hi,
i also tried to connect the testpoint but i am still stuck at "Spamming AT". I am quite sure that i was able to connect the test point. Is there a possibility that something else on the commboard is broken? not the bootloader? I think I never touched the bootloader. Can I check whether my secpack or bb or something else is broken?
unbrick112 helped me alot! This is how I got so far!

"Spamming AT" means the testpoint is not CONNECTING when iunew starts to run. For example, if you "sleep 45; iunew", you must connect and hold testpoint from 40 to 50 second after you enter the command. Because at the time of 45 seconds, the iunew starts to run. At that moment testpoint must be connected.

Is there a script which automatically uploads all necessary files to reflash the bootloader and gives 1 minute to connect A17 testpoints?
I got stuck on the "Spamming AT, waiting for a response" screen when I use zIphone!
Ive got the baseband from 1.1.4 firmware on it. I cant activate the 1.0.2 firmware. NO WIFI
What can I do?

yepp use 112unbrick.
all needed files being uploaded. jailbreak and activation too.
but only works on FW 1.1.2. so you have to downgrade.
you must write the commands manually and then you must do the testpoint.
another question:
can anybody tell me how to check the 1.8V power source with a circuit analyzer?
EDIT:
There is no 1.8V! There is 0.0V. whats wrong with the capacitor???

I think iphone dev team gonna fix this problem soon...
Most of us got error message like this
AppleMRVL868z: Invalid calibration data in device tree
I read something. It is related to device tree..
"After booting up, we patch out signature check from AppleImage2NorAccess extention and proceed with flashing our custom firmware files (iBoot, LLB, DeviceTree, and pictures)"
iBoot is the last and most complicated bootloader on the devices, and is what actually loads up the kernel with device tree.
