THIS TUTORIAL WORKS FOR 1.1.2 & 1.1.3 OUT OF THE BOX IPHONES

Hi every1

First of all i wanted to thank every1 who sent me appreciation emails for the tutorial i wrote [1.1.2 OTB] Downgrade/Activate/Jailbreak MADE EASY (For Newbies).

I come to you today with a new tutorial, an updated one that incorporates the SIM UNLOCK that was released today

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those who dont know what each work means ...

DOWNGRADE : go from firmware 1.1.2 to firmware 1.1.1
ACTIVATE: Bypass the AT&T activation to have access to all the functions in the iphone
JAILBREAK: gives you the ability to install 3rd party applications on the iphone.

STEP 1 - DOWNLOAD NECESSARY FILES

First Download the apple 1.1.1 firmware file

Second Download Ibrickr if you are using Windows or 1.1.2 jailbreak for Mac

Ibrickr : http://ibrickr.com/downloads/ibrickr_v0.91.zip

1.1.2 jailbreak : http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

STEP 2 - DOWNGRADE FROM 1.1.2 TO 1.1.1

At this step if you dont have Itunes installed on your Computer please visit the apple website and download and install Itunes

- Next Plug your USB in your computer and in your iphone, Itunes will automatically open and give you an ACTIVATION page

-Now press the MENU BUTTON and THE POWER BUTTON at the same time and keep pressing them until Itunes tells you that it has detected that your Iphone is in recovery Mode, this could take something from 10 seconds to 30 seconds, so keep pressing both buttons until you get the message

- Once you get the message dismiss the warning message in Itunes (Itunes has detected .....) by pressing OK and now you have 2 options , the first is Search for Updates and the second, that we will use is RECOVER

BEFORE YOU PRESS ON THE RECOVER BUTTON YOU NEED TO PRESS YOUR SHIFT BUTTON IN WINDOWS (OPTIONS BUTTON IN MAC) AND THEN PRESS RECOVER

Now a "Browse your files" window will open, go and chose the firmware 1.1.1 file you have downloaded in step 1 and press open

now Itunes will start downgrading your iphone (this takes some time) and the downgrade process will end up with an error message 1013 or 1015 THIS IS VERY NORMAL

-Next if you are using Windows Open Ibrickr (You have to Unzip Ibrickr.zip onto a Folder preferably on your desktop and then run ibrickr.exe) and chose the Option "Reboot my Iphone" to kick your Iphone out of the Recovery Mode (If your iphone screen turns red after pressing the reboot button then everything is OK ,if you have a green screen then you have to restart the tutoarial)

-ON MAC use iNdependence to kick the phone out of recovery mode http://independence.googlecode.com/

Now you iphone will restart and you will have an ACTIVATION PAGE on your iphone with the nice round WOrld image.

STEP3 - ACTIVATE AND JAILBREAK

Before you complete this part MAKE SURE that the AT&T Sim card is in your phone

Now, you are on the activation screen that says slide to make an emergency call, slide to get to the keypad and then do the following:

Dial *#307# and hit call

The iPhone will now start to ring itself, once it start to ring you have to erase *#307# by using the backslash button on your iphone and then type 0 and then CALL, the iphone will ring again and this time hit "Answer" then hit "Hold", the Phone will start to ring itself again, this time click "Decline".

Now on the screen you should be able to get to the contacts menu down the bottom, tap "Contacts" and then add a contact. Use the following instructions:

Add the Name "Testing" and tap save ( you can add any name it's not important)
Tap "Add URL" and type "prefs://1F" then tap save
Tap "Add URL" again and type "jailbreakme.com" then tap save

When this is done, tap "Save" again and it will take you to the contact page displaying the name "Testing" and the two URLs you just added. Tap the "prefs://1F" URL and it will open the iPhone Settings page.

Tap "General" and Then "Auto-Lock", set it to "Never".

Go back to the settings page

From here, tap WiFi and Add your WiFi network and make sure you are connected to it

Now, hit the Menu button to go back to the Activation Screen, slide and dial the number 0, the iPhone will now ring itself again, tap answer, then hold, then decline just like before.

Now, hit contacts again and then Testing, this time go to the "jailbreakme.com" URL
Safari will open and loan the page, scroll to the bottom and click on "Install AppSnapp".

Safari will now close and your iPhone will now go back to the Activation Screen.

Once you get to the activation screen slide to get to the dial pad again and when you do this iPhone will restart by itself and thats it, your now Activated and JailBroken.

STEP4 - SIM UNLOCK YOUR IPHONE

- Go into installer, after your sources refresh if there are any updates available please go ahead and install them.

Once they are installed make sure that you go in SOURCES and press REFRESH

When the refresh is done go into ALL PACKAGES and scroll down until you find BSD SUBSYSTEM and install it.

When the installation is done press your HOME button, you will be taken to the SLIDE TO UNLOCK screen, slide and unlock and go into the INSTALLER, Press the INSTALL button, scroll down to TWEAKS (1.1.3) locate the file called 1.1.2-1.1.3 OTB G-UNLOCK

-INSTALL IT !!!! (DONT FORGET TO PRESS THE "HOME" BUTTON ONCE THE INSTALLATION IS DONE)

STEP4 - UPGRADE TO FIRMWARE 1.1.2 & ACTIVATE AND JAILBREAK

-Download the 1.1.2 Firmware file from HERE (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-4037.20071107.5Bghn/iPhone1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore.ipsw)

-Click on INSTALLER on your iphone (Blue Icon usually the last one)
If you are asked to update your Installer please do it (if you updated don't forget after the update installs press the HOME button, it will take you back to the SLIDE TO UNLOCK page )

-Now open your ITUNES on your PC or MAC and press on the name of your IPHONE in the left colum, this will take you to the page with UPDATE or RESTORE buttons

On your IPHONE clicK on INSTALLER and press on TWEAKS 1.1.1 and press and install Oktoprep, once it is installed it will give you a message on your iphone saying "YOUR PHONE IS NOW READY TO BE UPGRADED TO 1.1.2 ........" press OK and then press the HOME button and it will take you back to the SLIDE TO UNLOCK.

-Your ITUNES is still open on your PC or MAC now press SHIFT on your keyboard and then UPDATE and ITUNES will open a browse window. Point to the 1.1.2 FIRMWARE file that you downloaded earlier and press OPEN.

Itunes will update your iphone to FIRMWARE 1.1.2 and this time you will not get an error message like the last time when u downgraded to 1.1.1, You will get a msg telling you "Your iphone was successfuly Updated to 1.1.2"

When the Update is finished you will get a picture of a plug that will appear on your iPhone and you will have the page SLIDE TO UNLCOK written in different languages

-Close ITUNES on your PC or MAC

-download and unzip 1.1.2 Jailbreak from here http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

-In the Folder you will find the file jailbreak.jar Open it and press on JAILBREAK!
(IF JAILBREAK.JAR DOESNT OPEN UPDATE YOUR JAVA HERE (http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp)

This will take some time and at the end you will get a message that says "Your Phone will reboot a couple of times ...... "

Let your phone REBOOT a couple of time... And you will get back to the SLIDE to UNLOCK page

YOU ARE DONE !!!!
YOU HAVE AN ACTIVATED AND JAILBROKEN and SIM UNLOCKED 1.1.2 IPHONE

AT THIS POINT YOU CAN ALWAYS UPDATE TO 1.1.3 USING THE DEV TEAM METHOD AND THE UNLOCK WILL STAY BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT SINCE 1.1.3 HAS STILL ALOT OF BUGS

yes because you will have to run the unlock on the 1.1.1 and then oktoprep and then udate to 1.1.2

iam getting an error.

After i oktoprep, and update the firmware to 1.1.2
then run jailbreak.bat.

This error comes up

"jailbreak Failed"
"this utility can only be used if you have already run oktoprep before updating to 1.1.2"

When I downgrade to 1.1.1 I lose Wifi, when I upgrade again to 1.1.2 I have it.
Is there anyway I can add Installer Apps from 1.1.2 or from windows?

Later on down the road, is it still possible to activate through AT&T?

I'm thinking probably yes since 1.1.3 upgrades the baseband, and this is what the g-unlock software does.

Just want to make sure this is reversable if needed.

couple things i'd like to point out:

1. why do you need to type jailbreak.unlockthatiphone.com and not jailbreakme.com directly in the contact URL? why even bother naming the contact? i've had no issues typing in jailbreakme.com

2. need to install BSD subsystem before installing 1.1.2-1.1.3 OTB G-Unlock.

just to clear things up in case anyone is having trouble.

I completely agree with the first remark. The two url's are prefs: and jailbreakme.com
For the second remark, I don't think you really need to install BSD subsystem.

oh yea, forgot about the prefs: URL.

i just unlocked another 1.1.2 OTB and when i tried installing the unlocker, it said i needed to install BSD. installed, then everything was fine. maybe i forgot a step, haha.

Hi, I am getting a little confused with the different jailbreak/unlock versions coming out lately.

This tutorial is for 4.6BL phones, right?

Do you know, is there a 3.9 BL activation & unlock around, that will survive an update to 1.1.3? Can the Geo method posted recently do that? I can live without the jailbreak, but I need the phone to be activated and unlocked without a legit sim card.

starting from the steps that you say to close itunes, do you still leave the iphone connected via the cable and then open up internet explorer or firefox or whichever browser you use then download the files using your computer right? then just run the application and that should activate the iphone because the usb cable is still connected?!?!?!?!

i dont quite understand that step, would you elaborate more please!

If you need the BSD for the unlocking, i agree.

Well, to kick out your iphone out of recovery mode you can also use the program which you downloaded also, and which is needed to jailbreak the 1.1.2:

In windows you start the windows.bat, for a Mac the jailbreak.jar file. But then you press simply the reboot from recovery button. Is has exactly the same functionality as working with the iBrickr files for kicking the phone out of recovery mode.

Then raffi007 could slightly adapt his tutorial, so it becomes even more easy for dummies like me en thousands of others.

All together you can avoid some steps, when the proposed procedure (which was already very good) is slightly adapted.

This means that you even don't need iBrickr at all in this procedure.

Can anybody confirm that we should NOT upgrade to 1.1.3 if we are using an SW unlocked 1.1.2 OTB with iWorld installed? I live in Argentina and must use iWorld in order to function normally. Should I wait to upgrade it?

Hi Thanks for a great tutorial. I have done all the steps and i can use my other operator. However, when i try to dial or send a SMS the phone just returns to the main menu. How do i fix it so that i can dial?

Should mention that if i make a new contact and tap on the phone number in the contact it calls the person. But as soon as i try to type the number manually i goes back to the main menu.

Also tried to send and sent an SMS to the iphone. when i open sms it just returns to the main menu.

Back a couple of months ago the TIFF EXPLOIT that exists in the Safari and that lets us apply the jailbreak didn;t always work by going straight to JAILBREAKME.COM so you had to pass first by jailbreak.unlockthatiphone.com and then change the address to Jailbreakme.com.
Still now some people have trouble with installing AppSnapp, that's why i added that part.

2. need to install BSD subsystem before installing 1.1.2-1.1.3 OTB G-Unlock.

You are totally right, i forgot to mention that but anyways it doesnt change anything since when you try to install the UNLOCK it will ask you to install the BSD susbsystem before.

The Testing name i gave is not to the URLS it's for the contact, Testing is the contact name, you can name it whatever you want.
Dont forget this Tutorial is for people who just got their iphones and never used them before so when i want them to go back to the URLS i tell them go to TESTING you created before

The reason why i am asking them to use Ibrickr is because if your iphone was not properly updated or there's something wrong with it , Ibrickr will show it to you with the Red or Green screens whereas the Jailbreak 1.1.2 software wont show you that.

Guys I need assistance.
I am doing the process for a friend of mine, but when I get to the jailbreak me....and i click on appsnap it loads for a while and then goes back to the activation page. At that point, after sliding, it should reboot but it doesnt'.........I've already tried to make the process from the beggininng twice but with no success....ANY IDEA^!?!????

Guys,
i managed to start the app snapp (the iphone must be connected to itunes),
but now I have a bigger problem....after i do the unlock I try to update the iphone to 1.1.2 but the process never went successful and bring back the iphone to a "slide for emergency status" .
I've already tried 3 times.....do you have any idea?

yes its normal since Installer needs internet to refresh its sources and when WIFI is turned off, the iphone tries to connect to the internet using EDGE and when you dont have EDGE it will give u the msg

did yout try to go to settings>general>network>EDGE. you have to set up your account. APN is required.

I Think you should add how to add unsupporeted country to iPhone as a new, for someone unnessesary Step 6 "Add your country to your iPhone" (if your dialer is crashing), iWorld don't have all countries and it can cause problems to iPhone.
people asking how to instal winSCP (well not install because u just download and run it), or something similiar for mac, what do they need. there is iclarified tutorial how to do that but because this suposed to be Made Easy for newbies it should contain location of winScp download and proces of patching appsupport...

When I do the very first step I get the 'Your iphone is in recovery mode' message but there is no update button just the restore button is pressable.

I have got a OTB 1.1.2 4.6BL that i had jailbroken, following the instructions on here and was using as an itouch. I have now tried to unlock for any sim, got to the last part of this tutorial and didn't have tweaks 1.1.1. As a result i tried to start again by restoring and then following these instructions from the beginning but all i get now is error message "the iphone "iphone"cannot be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)"

I hope someone can help me.

HELP PLEASE! so I don't get the 1013 or 1015 error (i get the one pictured below instead) after I restore, but I am able to re-boot using the ibrikr anyway. But once the phone re-boots (I do get the RED screen) it does not take me to an activation home page (itunes does but phone does not). What am I doing wrong?

if tweaks (1.1.1) not appear in your installer list you have to install Community Sources - this will add oktoprep which u need to go further with the unlock...

THanks for the info. Aftr installing Community Sources - I get the tweaks(1.1.1) but I still do not see the oktoprep...Am I doing something wrong here or looking at the wrong place?? Help please...

Can someone please help, I am having problems accessing the Jailbreakme.com website to install Appsnapp. I have read on other websites that it may be because my server is blocking the site, apparantely trying a different WIFI source does the trick.
The problem is i am extremely lazy and would like to know what i need to do to get it to work on my server. My broadband connection is through O2 in the UK.

great.. it works with my iphone otb 1.1.2 and im using now my personal sim here in spain. but when i try to watch video in youtube, the error message tells ¨cannot connect to youtube¨ but i have already the wifi connection and i tried already the safari, maps, and weather and its work perfectly. Only the youtube cannot connect. someone help me to solve this problem?.. thanks a lot..

When i get to the update to 1.1.2 part the downloaded file isn't in zip format it's saved as a file. Can anyone tell me what doc within that file i need to download or how to save the complete file as a zip like the 1.1.1 downloaded as?

Managed to sort the download by downloading on my imac and copying over to the mac. I now get all the way to the end of the unlocking process and get the message from jailbreak that all worked ok but when the phone restarts it goes straight into recovery mode!!!

Anyone help, please.

Hi guys,
I am stuck in a crappy situation and need some help :(
Since the iPhone is not yet available in Australia, I purchased an 1.1.2OTB from an australian seller who unlocked it for me with a turbosim.

Anyways, I thought that the unlock was a hardware unlock. I wanted to restore my phone as i had alot of things on it and it was running sluggish.

After restoring the iphone wont accept my sim. I have tried following your steps here but i dont have an at&t sim card to complete the unlocking process.

Ive been to the manufacturers website of the turbosim and it looks like the phone needs to be jailbroken first before the turbosim will work.

Does anyone know if there is a way around my dilemma?

Or am i gonna have to pay the guy i bought it from $99 to fix my phone?:mad:

you dont need the AT&T card just go with the tutorial with your own SIM card in the Iphone, but dont forget to REMOVE the turbosim.
Just insert your SIM card without the TURBOSIM in your iphone and go ahead with the tutorial

step 3 says to put ur at&t sim in, but since your the one who wrote it, ill give it a whirl. I hope it works :)
last time i tried, after dialing all those things it took me str8 back to the emergency call screen. tho i cant remember if i took my turbo sim out, or if i had a sim in there at all. ill try again and report back, thanks for the quick reply. im stressin so much havent slept yet, lol

Still doesnt seem to work :(
After downgrading, I run ibrickr and select boot phone.
Screen turns red.
When phone reboots i dont have the activation screen.
Instead the red background turns black and it gives me the option to emergency call.
I press all the buttons as said in the guide, phone rings, then when that process is complete, it takes me back to the same screen :(
Does anyone know what im doing wrong? Im running vista, could that be it? Ive got access to an xp machine. Am going to try it on that pc next.
Any ideas?

Ok, i think i know why it is not working for me.
Before I restored my iPhone i did try the 1.1.3 upgrade by the DEV team.
On checking my modem software I see the firmware version is 04.03.13_g not 04.02.13_g.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this?

Good news! I have finally fixed my iPhone. YAY!!!!
Just in case anyone else is having the same issues, I followed another guide in this forum using a program called ZiPhone.
If your having problems as I did, give it a try.

i used ur first tutorial to activate/jailbreak my OTB 1.1.2 4.6BL iphone few weeks ago, was an easy task thanks to ur great tutorial!:) ive been using an x-sim since(have a europe sim carrier).

as there's now finally a soft unlock solution (GeoHot made the impossible possible, hes a true genius!:cool: ) i'd like to use it instead of my current x-sim.

my question is:
1. do i follow ur new tutorial from beginning eventhough i have an already activated/jailbreaked (x-sim unlocked) iphone?
2. and more important to me, meanwhile i installed many applications, do i need to remove all of them before running the process???

A big, big thanks raffi. Had it not been for this guide, my iPhone would have been sitting on the shelf as a piece of decoration. I did all the steps, am stuck when I wanted to install oktoprep, it says that package download failed. If I try to install anything else, it says the same thing. Unable to download package. What could the problem be? Rest is working abs fine. Just stuck on the oktoprep step. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

thanks a lot raffi. That solved the problem. Another problem now. Although I am Getting the signals, I am not able to dial nos. Also, when I dial TO the no, I am getting the ring, but am not getting the ring on the phone. Also, when i go on recent calls, it goes back to the menu. It shows the number of missed calls in the phone, but does not show the nos. It is almost a non functional phone with only signals showing. What could the reason be? Appreciate any help

Hello. I have an OTB 1.1.2 iphone.
before the release of this software unlock method, i had it jailbroken and it was working perfectly without the telephone features, of course.
Meanwhile, the unlock was released and it worked perfectly, but a friend of mine accidently (don't ask me how) upgraded the iphone to 1.1.3.... and now I have a lot of bugs like the contact list lost the alphabethical list on the right and all the contacts are toguere and the world clock insists on beeing 4 hours ahead, wich means that the received and sent messeges are all mixed up because of the time difference... damn. can you tell me what to do in onrder to put this thing to work properly... i don't know, how can i downgrad it and if i do that, will it be working? mayby I can reverginize it no? sorry... completely lost here. ah, another strange thing... the batery used to last 5 to 6 days, depending on how often i listend to music but now i don't even listen even more and it only lasts 2 days, top.

HELP, please.....

I just got to completing Step 4 SIM Unlock your I phone...successfully.
Am now trying to upgrade to 1.1.2.
When I go to Installer I do not see the TWEAKS 1.1.1 option and hence cannot install Oktoprep. Any suggestions ????

Well I tried but after holding down the home and on buttons it does detect it's in recovery mode but the option 'check for updates' isn't available (which i know is ok as i don't require this) the other option is restore

please tell me what to do next?

i had a 1.1.2 OTB then i upgraded it to 1.1.3 since i had AT&t.. then 2 days ago downgraded it to 1.1.1 and unlocked with this software.. it worked... now my question is ?
can i run this software. on 1.1.3 and it will jail break 1.1.3 and unlock or no?

Hi every1

First of all i wanted to thank every1 who sent me appreciation emails for the tutorial i wrote [1.1.2 OTB] Downgrade/Activate/Jailbreak MADE EASY (For Newbies).

I come to you today with a new tutorial, an updated one that incorporates the SIM UNLOCK that was released today

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those who dont know what each work means ...

DOWNGRADE : go from firmware 1.1.2 to firmware 1.1.1
ACTIVATE: Bypass the AT&T activation to have access to all the functions in the iphone
JAILBREAK: gives you the ability to install 3rd party applications on the iphone.

STEP 1 - DOWNLOAD NECESSARY FILES

First Download the apple 1.1.1 firmware file

Second Download Ibrickr if you are using Windows or 1.1.2 jailbreak for Mac

1.1.2 jailbreak : http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

STEP 2 - DOWNGRADE FROM 1.1.2 TO 1.1.1

At this step if you dont have Itunes installed on your Computer please visit the apple website and download and install Itunes

- Next Plug your USB in your computer and in your iphone, Itunes will automatically open and give you an ACTIVATION page

-Now press the MENU BUTTON and THE POWER BUTTON at the same time and keep pressing them until Itunes tells you that it has detected that your Iphone is in recovery Mode, this could take something from 10 seconds to 30 seconds, so keep pressing both buttons until you get the message

- Once you get the message dismiss the warning message in Itunes (Itunes has detected .....) by pressing OK and now you have 2 options , the first is Search for Updates and the second, that we will use is RECOVER

BEFORE YOU PRESS ON THE RECOVER BUTTON YOU NEED TO PRESS YOUR SHIFT BUTTON IN WINDOWS (OPTIONS BUTTON IN MAC) AND THEN PRESS RECOVER

Now a "Browse your files" window will open, go and chose the firmware 1.1.1 file you have downloaded in step 1 and press open

now Itunes will start downgrading your iphone (this takes some time) and the downgrade process will end up with an error message 1013 or 1015 THIS IS VERY NORMAL

-Next if you are using Windows Open Ibrickr (You have to Unzip Ibrickr.zip onto a Folder preferably on your desktop and then run ibrickr.exe) and chose the Option "Reboot my Iphone" to kick your Iphone out of the Recovery Mode (If your iphone screen turns red after pressing the reboot button then everything is OK ,if you have a green screen then you have to restart the tutoarial)

-ON MAC use iNdependence to kick the phone out of recovery mode http://independence.googlecode.com/

Now you iphone will restart and you will have an ACTIVATION PAGE on your iphone with the nice round WOrld image.

STEP3 - ACTIVATE AND JAILBREAK

Before you complete this part MAKE SURE that the AT&T Sim card is in your phone

Now, you are on the activation screen that says slide to make an emergency call, slide to get to the keypad and then do the following:

Dial *#307# and hit call

The iPhone will now start to ring itself, once it start to ring you have to erase *#307# by using the backslash button on your iphone and then type 0 and then CALL, the iphone will ring again and this time hit "Answer" then hit "Hold", the Phone will start to ring itself again, this time click "Decline".

Now on the screen you should be able to get to the contacts menu down the bottom, tap "Contacts" and then add a contact. Use the following instructions:

Add the Name "Testing" and tap save ( you can add any name it's not important)
Tap "Add URL" and type "prefs://1F" then tap save
Tap "Add URL" again and type "jailbreakme.com" then tap save

When this is done, tap "Save" again and it will take you to the contact page displaying the name "Testing" and the two URLs you just added. Tap the "prefs://1F" URL and it will open the iPhone Settings page.

Tap "General" and Then "Auto-Lock", set it to "Never".

Go back to the settings page

From here, tap WiFi and Add your WiFi network and make sure you are connected to it

Now, hit the Menu button to go back to the Activation Screen, slide and dial the number 0, the iPhone will now ring itself again, tap answer, then hold, then decline just like before.

Now, hit contacts again and then Testing, this time go to the "jailbreakme.com" URL
Safari will open and loan the page, scroll to the bottom and click on "Install AppSnapp".

Safari will now close and your iPhone will now go back to the Activation Screen.

Once you get to the activation screen slide to get to the dial pad again and when you do this iPhone will restart by itself and thats it, your now Activated and JailBroken.

STEP4 - SIM UNLOCK YOUR IPHONE

- Go into installer, after your sources refresh if there are any updates available please go ahead and install them.

Once they are installed make sure that you go in SOURCES and press REFRESH

When the refresh is done go into ALL PACKAGES and scroll down until you find BSD SUBSYSTEM and install it.

When the installation is done press your HOME button, you will be taken to the SLIDE TO UNLOCK screen, slide and unlock and go into the INSTALLER, Press the INSTALL button, scroll down to TWEAKS (1.1.3) locate the file called 1.1.2-1.1.3 OTB G-UNLOCK

-INSTALL IT !!!! (DONT FORGET TO PRESS THE "HOME" BUTTON ONCE THE INSTALLATION IS DONE)

STEP4 - UPGRADE TO FIRMWARE 1.1.2 & ACTIVATE AND JAILBREAK

-Download the 1.1.2 Firmware file from HERE (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-4037.20071107.5Bghn/iPhone1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore.ipsw)

-Click on INSTALLER on your iphone (Blue Icon usually the last one)
If you are asked to update your Installer please do it (if you updated don't forget after the update installs press the HOME button, it will take you back to the SLIDE TO UNLOCK page )

-Now open your ITUNES on your PC or MAC and press on the name of your IPHONE in the left colum, this will take you to the page with UPDATE or RESTORE buttons

On your IPHONE clicK on INSTALLER and press on TWEAKS 1.1.1 and press and install Oktoprep, once it is installed it will give you a message on your iphone saying "YOUR PHONE IS NOW READY TO BE UPGRADED TO 1.1.2 ........" press OK and then press the HOME button and it will take you back to the SLIDE TO UNLOCK.

-Your ITUNES is still open on your PC or MAC now press SHIFT on your keyboard and then UPDATE and ITUNES will open a browse window. Point to the 1.1.2 FIRMWARE file that you downloaded earlier and press OPEN.

Itunes will update your iphone to FIRMWARE 1.1.2 and this time you will not get an error message like the last time when u downgraded to 1.1.1, You will get a msg telling you "Your iphone was successfuly Updated to 1.1.2"

When the Update is finished you will get a picture of a plug that will appear on your iPhone and you will have the page SLIDE TO UNLCOK written in different languages

-Close ITUNES on your PC or MAC

-download and unzip 1.1.2 Jailbreak from here http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/1.1.2-jailbreak.zip

-In the Folder you will find the file jailbreak.jar Open it and press on JAILBREAK!
(IF JAILBREAK.JAR DOESNT OPEN UPDATE YOUR JAVA HERE (http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp)

This will take some time and at the end you will get a message that says "Your Phone will reboot a couple of times ...... "

Let your phone REBOOT a couple of time... And you will get back to the SLIDE to UNLOCK page

YOU ARE DONE !!!!
YOU HAVE AN ACTIVATED AND JAILBROKEN and SIM UNLOCKED 1.1.2 IPHONE

[B][U]alright, so i am having a problem with downgrading , i hold shift and press restore when itunes opens my iphone , and the restore comletes , but it shows that there is an error (6) , and when i open ibrickr .91 , it reads the iphone , but the iphone screen stays "green" . I go back to itunes to try and resotre it to default , but since iphone version 1.1.4 is out , i do not want to upgrade from my otb 1.1.2 , i have purchased a turbo sim and everything , if anyone has ANY help , it will be greatly appreciated THANKS.[B][U]

yes you will lose your apps but make sure you sync your contacts and calendar and everything with itunes before u do the tutorial

Works great, but I just lost the ability to send SMS about a week ago, thinking about software unlock. Iclarified seems to have pretty easy method via installer:

are you sure the download/install completes? I think you get error 6 if you are trying this method on a 1.1.3 OTB. if that is the case, follow the instructions on the link in my previous post (above) and pay *special* attention to Step #1!

Even though you said that the version is 1.1.2, it seems otherwise.

OktoPrep not working? Just go to "All Packages" in your installer, and install "Community Sources". Then, press the home button, open up the installer again, and voila... OktoPrep is there!

It works great, only thing i had trouble with was finding the oktoprep app, since you have to install the comunity sources first to get it. Tihs action should be taken at the end of step 4...Everything else works great

Help someone please................my screen was red whilst using ibrickr then it started booting but all there is is thousands of words rolling up my screen all the time, I cant turn it off.

When I run ibrickr again is says its not connected.

Eeeeekkk what the hell !!

How do I stop this / how do I get it back to the start/virginalise it?

I've really messed up.
I have a turbosim and a few days ago I attempted to unlock my phone using your other article on how to unlock using a turbosim. Everything worked great until I wasn't able to upgrade to 1.1.2 and my phone was stuck at the plug. I was able slide for emergency calls or whatever. I couldn't figure it out, and since I saw that same screen otb, before I even started this unlocking stuff, I figured I could try to re-unlock the phone. So I tried using this article because I figured why use my turbosim when I don't have to? I've put my phone into restore mode, but now it will not downgrade to 1.1.1. It says that there is an 'unknown error.' I don't know how to get it out of restore mode, or what I've even done! PLEASE help. It would be greatly appreciated!

I get the following error when i try to insall 1.1.2-1.1.3 OTBG-Unlock....

once i restored the phone with 1.1.1 firmware, i did the update.....
then installed BSD subsystem.....
i could not see tweaks 1.1.3 folder..so i installed community sources...i am stuck after that....
how do i proceed??
