I was doing the HW downgrade, dissembling the phone but I think I may have been too eager when I got to step where I was to take the final antenna/baseband cover off to see the testpoints.

The first time I connected to my mac I got a: "Please insert (correct) SIM" from iTunes and the iPhone displays: iPhone cannot make or receive calls. Repair needed.

I've tried restoring to 1.1.2 and 1.1.1 but it still displays this message and I can't dial *#307# - I can't restore to 1.0.2

I think I permanently bricked my phone but... there any chance of unbricking it? Virginizing? Restoring to 1.1.3? At this time I'm open to all options and all kinds of crazy ideas.

Try to put 1.0.2 whit Itunes... If it work you still have hope to Unlock It...

If it's not working (Waiting for Iphone for like 30 min in itunes) The only way you can fix it is to restore 1.1.3 and then loose all the hope to unlock it until the 1.1.4 release if it contain a new baseband upgrade... (Thats what I did)

If you are able to put 1.0.2 just search for Unknow IMEI and you will find at least 5 tutorials on how to try the unlock again

good luck

I'm not sure whether or not you had the same problem as I, but thanks for your help. I'm trying to restore to 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 and hoping I'll get one of those jailbroken or maybe even downgraded to 1.0.2

I'm guess I'm gonna try till I can at least get it jailbroken.

Yes, do that. I ran into same situation with one of the phones I did. Frustrating as hell! but hang in there, it is possible to get out of that situation, just read and do research from above quote.

Yeah, I've tried that... I've read numerous tutorials and tried restoring a million times but still nothing:/
