Has anyone tried this method?
Frankly, I think the phone was previously opened. Getting the antenna cover off isn't that easy.

blatantly not that easy, mine took so much force it was unbelievable, and I'm yet to be convinced theres a way to do it with no cosmetic damage.

there's a eCommerce in HK that sells a replacement case.
I've ordered from them in the past an item. It took a LOT to arrive in Italy, but it actually was delivered.
Of course you'll loose your IMEI and Serial # laser engraving, but it will look as new :-)

NOTE: I'm not related to them, so I don't guarantee for them. Use your brain to make your decision :-)

How did you do it? .. Any special tricks? :) .. It took me 3 hours to open and at some points I felt like I would be better of with a can opener :)
any tips on how to get it off would greatly be appreciated.
i've tried everything on the forums, ifixit's guide, etc. etc but no luck

have h/w unlocked more then 50 phones .... only 2 of them opened that easy. all the rest of them have really made me earn my money/winds(f*%king case)! but now i can open, testpoint, and close in under 30 minutes... and no cosmetic damage. use credit cards, guitar picks, and a 3-4" needle the width of a paper clip. the needle/point is needed to slide in-between the case lids, to pry open. once separated enough, i get the credit card in-between, and start working my way frontward. for the black plastic, i use razer blade to open just enough on one side to fit credit card into, and then i slide across to open same amount all the way across. it takes time and multiple times. but always use a hard material(plastic) that is softer then the iPhone, and you will be ok(no scratches, etc.).

ps - on plastic table with cloth over it, use it to bend sides of case inward, so that when you put it back on phone, it is tight, and when it opens up and locks into place, it's snug and looks factory fresh, without separations or hard obvious edges, and such.

Is the case exactly the same as the original one?
With the shiny apple logo on the back and everything? :D
I've done some damage to mine, after trying patiently for almost 6 hours non-stop. Results: 2 badly cut fingers, a broken knife, 2 crappy ipod opening tools broken, and a gitar pick destroyed.
But I've managed to do it in the end :D

Thats actually not that much damage Polacchini, my case is absolutely mashed up and has stress marks from where it bent on the sides.
I ordered a replacement back and it came with logo, switches and lens cover. Just need to transfer over the vibrator, earphone plug and top switch! Think I will leave that for another day ;)
