[EDGE] gets hot when using it

I have a perfectly fine working OTB1.1.2 with China3GPP *sim. But when Im using EDGE for anything iPhones upper back gets kinda hot. I prosume my *sim is the problem maker, but is it harmful for the phone?

That's absolutely normal, i think it's either due to heavy processor or battery usage. Both get hot when stressed.
