I guess it would make a lot more sense to write an driver/app that support the Wiimote as it is a bluetooth controller.
The Wiimote is most likely the best controller for upcoming emulators and games aswell.
Besides a driver has already been written for OSX, so i don't think it would be that hard to make it run on an iPhone.
But of course, this is just a suggestion. :)

This is true as it may be easier to obtain a wiimote, but a NES remote is cheaper + bluetooth murders battery, although the iphone battery lasts very long.
