I for one is stoked to be able to use skype on the Iphone. I am trying to find a download link.
Comments/ Thoughts?
UPDATE:
Nice of shapeservices to tease, no download is currently available...could this be a stunt?. also I have read their site 3 times and I am now starting to believe that this is only IM and not actually voice.

Hey Claus !
You can subscribe on their site to become a beta tester ...
I did so, however, had no time yet to do heavy testing.
The app is nicely done and messaging via Skype works perfectly. There are definitely phone calling functions, however, they did not work properly for me yet.
Using some kind of call-back feature where you provide your phone number (not my iPhone, a mobile) and the number to be called, I managed to connect 2 other phones - not the iPhone :)
Not so cool yet
I'll try to contact them and ask how it should be operated and if it's possible anyhow via WiFi to make phone calls on SIM-non-activated iPhones.
Best wishes

Looks like they did a decent job for an instant messenger client. I'm looking forward to a true VOIP client.

Guys,
I signed up for this a few weeks ago and last Thursday got a mail inviting me to try it out.
Firstly this is a web based service - no download
The IM features work quite well, but for me at least thats where it ends.
You are asked to enter a "Callback Number" - it took me a while to figure it out as the doc on the site is / was nonexistant. When you place a call the recipient is called and directly placed on hold, once this is done the Callback number is also called and placed in conference with the first recipient.
So in reality what you are doing is using your Skype out credit to call 2 phones, one of them being you own (this number can be modified as you see fit). All the iphone does is initiate the conference and you DO NOT use the iphone to speak  (Sorry for the caps but I feel it's worth emphasising ;) ).
Though this is undoubtedly useful for some, it is not what I was hoping for personally, and to be honest I found the info on their site to be a little misleading - but maybe thats just down to my understanding, and though I know they intend to sell this service, the beta was free, so no harm done. In either case it didn't really work that well and took several attempts before a call was connected successfully (at least in my experience)
Hope this helps a few of you, and hope we get a "real" VOIP app (and a bloody unlock while we're at it) soon :D

I haven't tried this, so I could be wrong. But I think this service is supposed to let you make a receive calls though skype using you data connection.
You have to have money in your skype out account to make calls to a phone number. You have to subscribe to a skype in number to receive calls on skype.
Well friends,
Tried a couple minutes ago and I can confirm this:
1) Logged on with my user and pwd (used 11111111 for phone nr)
2) Chatted with a friend of mine (who only believed me when I sent a cammed shot of the iphone chat session... lol that was cool! )
3) Was not able to call my friend since he did not have a mic, BUT I called home instead and the phone rang "loud and clear"!
So YES, it works VERY WELL!!!! :D
(Those guys did a gr8 job!)
