That would be incredible, and oddly very achievable. Even if it were a subset of the features it would be incredible. One of the few programmes I would definitely donate to.

I have been hoping for an rdp client for the iPhone for a while now. Since rdp is a more efficient protocol, it might make more sense to bring it to the iPhone first (for use on EDGE).

to the previous poster, I think you've confused VNC (remote computer control like RDP) with VLC (Video Lan Client) which is a killer media player application...

It would be nice to have, save some transcoding that's for sure, but given the iPhone's inherent functionality for video I wouldn't be surprised if this were a lower priority to say an IM or Skype client.

Sorry, dont know how I did that. Yup, VLC would be a great addition to the iPhone apps list. However, the hardware decoder only supports h.264 to the best of my knowledge. Obviously, the iPhone should be able to handle other codecs on its cpu, but I think this could cause battery life to take major hit. Still, a great idea.
