I am trying to determine what is causing the problem where incoming calls will not work.
It seems to be network dependent as I was able to use it on two of the three networks. The card works fine with regular phone also.
If we have a list then we can start comparing characteristics and then find a pattern so we know what to look for.
I am calling for everyone to post network name and MNC. You can also post network names of carriers that operate properly with the supersim and an iphone.
So far we know:
-----------------------------
BG (hardware unlock/supersim/at&t subscr./software unlock)
MTEL 28401 - no incoming
Poland -
Era GSM (260 02) - no incoming
Malasia
Maxis (502 12)- no incoming (what's the network # for this one?)
Bali
Dunno the name
Kuwait
MTC (419 02)- No Incoming
Saudi Arabia
no name avail
Bahrain
MTC Vodafone (426 02)
come one boys list operators and countries

Having incoming call issues with Era GSM in Poland
(using the silvercard method with a V1 card).
Inbound calls work fine when the same clone card
is inserted into my Nokia.
No incoming calls in Era GSM. Supersim method with v1 card. The supersim card works in ordinary phones (i.e. incoming calls go through).
When I put the silvercard in iPhone, I get message more or less like "user has not activated the service you are trying to use".
What is interesting, when you set call forwarding on iPhone, the call gets through (to the other number).
Strange.

Not really strange. Call forwarding is not phone-specific,
but rather carrier-specific (it's set up on Era's end in this
case, so it doesn't have to do anything with the fact that
the inbound calls don't work)

it also does not work on the national water company network or the national power transmission network.
no regular gsm network is compatable ith 3g networks and CDMA networks
Nikibs, I mention 3 because they have a coverage agreement with Telstra in Australia whenr there is no 3G coverage in a particular area, it reverts to Telstra's 2G network. So in theory it should work, just using the 2G network. However, 3 have somehow locked their sims so it won't work in a 2G phone like the iPhone.
the same is *NOT* true for telstra - even though I have a 3G sim for a 3G phone, it works in the iPhone on the 2G network.
So thanks for the misplaced sarcasm
it also does not work on the national water company network or the national power transmission network.

i was making a joke. it has been mentioned here before that 3g only networks that have 2.5g roaming agrements will not work.
they have contracts with very restrictive roaming, probably mapped to let you use the other provider's cell only where 3g is not available. there is (or used to be) a similar agreement between cingular and t-mobile for a while, you will be able to roam but not everywhere.
so far there is no reports here on anybody that is on a 3g card with iphone and was able to roam

I am getting a hell of a lot "Call failed" errors when i try to dial. Eventually it goes through but it is kinda annoying.
Anyone else get the same problems?
