Hey all,

I have managed, thanks to all the big names here, to get my iPhone working in the UK on Orange with full SMS and EDGE support.

The only thing that is not working is YouTube.

Can someone explain why this is? and even better, explain how to get it working?

Many thanks,

Adam-James

Sorry! I managed to crack the ki's on all the cards i found, but only one was prepay and still active... needless to say, I kept that one for myself.

I'm still testing cards all the time, and if i find some, ill gladly share them with ppl in need.

As I understand it, it's basically this:

The YouTube server checks for a security token when it is accessed by an iPhone client.

This token seems to be created on the iPhone when it is activated through AT&T, and not when activated through other means - "tool," DVD Jon's iTunes patch, "Andersen method," iASign, etc.

Without this token, YouTbue won't respond. It is possible that in a small number of cases, the iPhone is activated with a placeholder token that happens to match the checksum of the YouTube test, or something like that. That would explain the random successes.

If you can get a copy of a legitimate token from a legitimately registered iPhone, you could apply it to yours using iASign.

The difficulty is, it's actually the property of the iPhone owner, and the iPhone has to be jailbreak'd to reveal it, so there probably aren't any floating around.
