Huh? What are you asking, if you transfered the application using winSCP why are you asking to transfer the application? Also you can chmod files using SCP, so not sure what you are saying here. You are being very vague.

i would like to put the recorder application but dont know where and to i have to rename i dont know anything about chmod

am i supposed to just drag the file to my appliation folder private/var/root/application please help thanks

Dont take this the wrong way, but if you are not comfortable or have some computer/unix knowledge, I probably would not have just gone gung ho trying to get it to work.
CHMOD is a way to change file permissions, you CHMOD a file to change it to say read write execute priveledges or whatever you want. You run this from a command line or you can do it directly in SCP.
The recorder application has to be in the /Applications directory. Once there you CHMOD the application file to 755. But you should know that from reading the readme on it. You dont put anything in the /private/var/root area.

i am sorry i know my question must be making you feel irritated but really have zero knowledge in this area.

Once you copy the application you right click on the files you need to CHMOD and go to CHMOD or Properties and from there set them to the right permissions such as 0755 or whatever is needed.
