as we all know iphone is gonna take time for being getting unlocked
we can still use skype to call people through wifi

does anybody know if there is skype made for iphone

Skype is closed source software, so someone can't just do a port. Also, currently any currently any 3rd party development for the iPhone isn't sanctioned by Apple, so I kind of doubt that Skype would release a port until Apple opens things up more (though I wouldn't be surprised if they had an internal port running).

IM only web client for Skype - no VOIP.

OpenWengo (http://www.openwengo.org/) is an open-source alternative to Skype, and already has a client available for OS X. If someone were able to port the existing OS X code to be be usable in the iPhone frameworks, this would essentially be the same effect. Their Internet to land line rates are almost the same as Skype's, if not cheaper.
