Hi guys,
seems like there are loads of us out there with a nice brick - unknown imei, unknown iccid, no sound etc. It all happened while trying to manipulate the baseband.
Most of us had or still have hard time jailbreaking and activating the brick if iccid and imei are missing. Here is a short step-by-step description of jalbreak and acivation process for your 1.1.2. OTB brick:
0. Download all necessary software:
- 1.0.2. Restore file (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-3823.20070821.vormd/iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw)
- iBrickr 0.91 (http://ibrickr.com/downloads/ibrickr_v0.91.zip)
- Activation Script (http://www.pisk.si/download/activation.zip)
1. Set your brick to Recovery Mode by rebooting while holding the Home-Button. Restore through iTunes to 1.0.2 using iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw file
The Restore will finish with an error - that's OK. Your brick will remain in Recovery Mode.
2. Opet iBrickr, select Boot my iPhone and follow instructions. Now you should be able to see the Activation Screen. Close iBrickr.
3. Open iTunes, it will give you an error about not able to activate withous SIM card, click it away and close iTunes.
4. Open iBricr again, now Free my iPhone button should be visible. Click on it, follow the instructions and wait until iBrickr executes loads of stuff on your brick.
The brick will end up in Recovery Mode again (no Activation Screen). Boot it again with iBrickr to get to Activation Screen. Close iBrickr. Your brick is jailbroken now.
5. Unpack acivation.zip, run (CLICK HERE) activate..bat ad follow instructions. After the reboot your brick will be activated and you will be able to see the springboard.
That should be it. :D
Let me know if it worked (I am quite sure it should).
Just one note: If something went wrong during activation (Step 5), only executing the .bat again will not work. Delete all unpacked files and unpack the whole zip file again. Then execute .bat again.
You should be where I am now. Next step in order to fix our baseband should be to get Mobile Terminal installed through iBrickr. Seems like it's not working for me. Can somebody give more info on installing an application trough iBrickr since I have never done it? I suppose the installed application should apper as an icon on the springboard, but it doesn't for me. Is there any other way to install the Mobile Terminal?
Thanks!
CHEERS!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE - Installation of Mobile Terminal succeeded
Let me continue with step 6 - Installation of Mobile terminal
6. Go to http://iphone.exploit.org/pxl, choose MobileTerminal vsvn206 and download the file. Rename it from MobileTerminal-svn206.zip to MobileTerminal-svn206.pxl. Open iBrickr, go to Applications and choose "Install from PXL file". Choose the downloaded MobileTerminal-svn206.pxl and let iBrickr do the rest. After the soft reboot you will find the Mobile Terminal icon on the springboard.
Now you can make another attempt in downgrading your baseband. Happy hacking!!!

OK, immediate error is a different story.
I have seen it before - just try again. If it doesn't work after several tries, restore to 1.1.1. and then again to 1.0.2. Now it should work. That's how I did it.

I also got that far already. I got stuck for hours now, when I try to run ienew from geohots Blog http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/2008/01/112-otb-unlocked.html . zsh keeps telling me: permission denied . I think, that we are exactly in the same situation. Do you have any clue, how to reflash the baseband right now?
Do you think, the source mentioned (geohots files) is the right way to go from here?

I am trying to downgrade to 1.0.2 however, everytime i did restoring i stucked at the "waiting for iphone"message. I can not go any further of that even though i waited for hours while connected to iTunes.
When i try to upgrade to 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 i ended up with 1011 error message and only after apptap or iBrickr or 1.1.2 Jailbreak and reboot software i can get with the springboard. Of course no wifi imei or sound !!!
I tried to downgrade the iphone to 1.0.2 with every method i know so far. DFU mode even doesnt allow me to downgrade...
Do you know how i can overcome that " Waiting for iphone" part ?
DO i have any chance to recover my brick??

ok vt100 installed, next step ?
No idea.
You can either try the h/w unlock from Geohot (It should flash the baseband also, so the problem with wifi will be solved) or wait until a software unlock comes out (hoping it includes a way to flash the baseband, which it most probably will).
I will do the latter since not quite handy hen it comes to microelectronics.

You have to flash the baseband successfully, no other way. Still have no real idea how to do it. Think I'm gonna wait for software unlock which should be around the corner and hope it will include a baseband flash to 3.14. or something.
You can also try Geohots h/w if handy enough.

I am also wondering why bbupdater is not working. Like I already asked - does anybody know what secpack bbupdater uses to flash the baseband. If it uses secpack from 1.1.3. ten it should work in theory since 1.1.3. > 1.1.2.
But then again, whay did Geohot choose to downgrade the bootloader before flashing the baseband? I can see 2 possibilities:
1. We all didn't get the whole picture and flashing the baseband even with secpack 1.1.3. is not possible on bl 4.6.
2. Downloading the bl from 4.6. to 3.9. was easier for him than programming a new version of bbupdater. If this is correct, Dev Team or somebody else should soon release a new version of bbupdater. Or maybe a software solution for downgrading the bl?

To solve the Waiting for iPhone (in iBrickr, I suppose) issue you just need to start iTunes, klick away the error messages and close it again (Step 3)

the "Waiting for iPhone" appears on iTunes when trying to downgrade to 1.0.2. It just stucks there for hours (literally) and it's impossible to downgrade. I've been on this situation for two days now.
In short, for some unknown reason there are some of us who are unable to downgrade to 1.0.2 because of the 'Waiting for iPhone' message on iTunes that stays forever.

Good News:
ragtap and I just confirmed how to solve the no wifi, no iccid, no imei etc, after hw unlock.
1-Downgrade to 1.0.2 with Ibrick
2-Jailbreak and activate
3-Install vt100 and BSDsubsystem with the plx files
4-Upload to /usr/bin the 112otb files and the Nor 3.9 file with Ibrick
5-Set permisions from vt100 to 777
6-Run ienew from vt100
7-Prepare testpoint and Run iunew from vt100
8-reboot
9-restore to 1.1.1 ( will get error 1011)
10-restore to 1.1.2, now you would have wifi, iccid, etc, again
Enjoy!!!

in there, does that need to be ended? if so, how?

is this for 3.9 or 4.6 bootloader? I mean i know we are still waiting but ... it hasnt bee specified anywhere in this thread??
The baseband can only be downgraded on BL 3.9 iPhones, so this guide is not suitable for OTB 1.1.2 iPhones (week 45 and over).
They all have bootloader 4.6 unless you do the hardware hack.

OTB 1.1.2 iphone
tried hardware unlock but after i run a file from i.unlock.no wifi become unavailable and i did nothing about hardware unlock.
at the moment i have no WIFI IMEI sound or nothing.
1- i tried to restore to 1.1.1 and it ended up with error 1011 and shows iTunes icon and cable.
2- i tried iBrickr 0.91. iBrickr mods the iphone and it says if the screen is RED modding is succesful and now to the next step. However, i cannot restore the iphone back to 1.0.2. Itunes says " waiting for iphone" after classic extracting software message.
No matter how long i have waited nothing happened and never resored or restore started so basically i cannot restore the phone to 1.0.2.
3- I restored to 1.1.2 and still ended up with error 1011.
The strange thing is i am able to restore the phone back to 1.1.1 from 1.1.2 without needing DFU mode.
at the moment the iphone is total brick...
i am really very upset about it.
if anyone knows anything about that problem and can have a solution or knowledge about the solution, i would be really glad.

Good News:
ragtap and I just confirmed how to solve the no wifi, no iccid, no imei etc, after hw unlock.
1-Downgrade to 1.0.2 with Ibrick
2-Jailbreak and activate
3-Install vt100 and BSDsubsystem with the plx files
4-Upload to /usr/bin the 112otb files and the Nor 3.9 file with Ibrick
5-Set permisions from vt100 to 777
6-Run ienew from vt100
7-Prepare testpoint and Run iunew from vt100
8-reboot
9-restore to 1.1.1 ( will get error 1011)
10-restore to 1.1.2, now you would have wifi, iccid, etc, again
Enjoy!!!
Step 6 i get .. " waiting for data " what i have to do ?

Hi,
I had tried to h/w unlock the iphone (1.1.2 OTB) using the i.unlock.no resources. At the time i did that, the NOR file wasn't correct. It got bricked. Tried restore to 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 with 1011 error. Thent i followed these steps:
1.Downgrade, jailbreak,activate 1.0.2
2.Install BSD subsystem and terminal
3.Upload the whole set of files from geohot site + NOR
4.Set permissions to 777 to all of the files (and the folder)
BUT when i run ienew it's complaining : "Can't Write"
Am I missing something?
P.S. Sorry about my english

i believe this means one of 2 things
eather you have had Itune with haigher version installed on that Pc before and you have uninstalled it and installed the 7,3,2 itune and this does not work because the itune leaves files in the windows thats why i told you to go to a new PC
or you did not put the phone in the DFU mode
to put it in the DFU mode
press both the home and power bottons till the screen goes black and wait for 2 sec
release the power pottun only and keep on the home bottun pressed until the phone gets detected in itune in recovery mode then release the home bottun

Hi, guys !
Running Windows Vista
My iPhone is US 1.1.2 OTB Week 46
As you know, there are tonns of 1.1.2 OTB h/w unlock, so i've managed to follow the i.unlock.no guide. I've downloaded all programs as needed and opend and scratched as shown.
The next step i've done is the "terminal magic". The unload of CommCenter went ok, then i executed ieraser... My iPhone started thinking and rebooted, i lost GSM and Wi-FI :(((
After that i realised that "old 3.9 bootloader nor dump file" wasn't moved on iphone.
So i tryed to reverse this metod by downgrading to 1.0.2. Did it ok, with error, as told in tutorials. Then, i've managed to kick out iphone from recovery mode with wellow triangle, with iBrickr. But this program couldnt find my iphone, it just hang with no use of it...
I used windows.bat file (which came with 1.1.2 jailbreaking method ) and pressed "Boot from Recovery" button and it did the thing... my iphone booted and i could see "Slide to Emergency" screen.
Had to jailbreak 1.0.2, but it was one big piece of sh** :(
I used AppTapp Installer several times, but it just always hang on "Booting iPhone from Recovery" .
Also there was a try with a "wiNstaller". Programm started doing it's duty, but when the thing came to recovery mode, my iphone couldnt stay in it and just rebooted to Activation Screen, so "wiNstaller" was stuck on "Exit Recovery".
PACAY couldn't help me, couse i didnt do the jailbreak.
So I'm like in deep a**hole ? PLEASE, be kind, suggest me something, help me... save my life and $400. Is there a way out... can i stil jailbreak and activate ?
P.S: iTunes was "killed" and restart was done about 100 times, but no use.. iBrickr cant detect the phone and even cant kick out of recovery.

I managed to get past the "waiting for iphone" issue by pressing F5 in iBrickr to refresh while iTunes was saying "waiting for iphone"
Had some trouble with the jailbreak reseting loop, but got around it with itunes 7.3 and DFU, like someone suggested in a previous post.
Now I have terminal and bsd installed, but when I run ienew I get:
Resetting the Baseband...Done
Opened: /dev/tty.baseband
iEraser for 112OTB: tool by geohot
Waiting for data...
and it just hangs here
if I ^C and run iunew, I get:
Resetting the Baseband...Done
Opened: /dev/tty.baseband
iUnlocker: tool by geohot
Modified to erase
Spamming AT, waiting for a response
and it hangs.
I had the same problem back in 1.1.1, thus the downgrade to 1.0.2. I had hoped that this would solve my problem, yet it seems that it did not.
Any suggestions?

I did everything like i.unlock.no said. iunew end up at address 1FF00. After that I restored to 1.1.2 and 1.1.1. Then the *#307# emergence call didn't work at all. Keyboard didn't run smoothly. I wished the 1.1.3 could reflush the whole baseband which might rescue the brick. It didn't. Then I tried to restore it back to 1.1.2, 1.1.1 and 1.0.2. All ended up with immediate error (1).
At last, I used ibrickr 0.9.1. Of course I cann't restore 1.0.2. It always stucked in "waiting to iphone". I used the same way to restore to 1.1.1. However, the baseband problem still remains.
Obviously none of us did nothing wrong in the hw operation. The way itself could not be applied to all the 1.1.2 OTB iphones. I think the creater should give us a clear answer where the problem is, the baseband or bootloader? And any chance to bring it back?

Ibrick is not working to activate and jailbreak my phone. It says that it is decompressing the 1.0.2 firmware files, but it does nothing. Anyone can help?
I think the mistake we made was after the iunew command. we should wait 10 min like hackthatphone.com mentions. Instead, i.unlock.no says nothing, so the people who used this guide to do the unlock got it messed up, like me! I'm so sad! My phone is a brick!

im unlocking iphones in mexico and i noticed something rare, all iphones of week 49 50 and 51 bricks, before making the hardware unlock i try to downgrade to 1.0.2 and it freezes in wating for iphone, them i restore it to 1.1.1 an follow the tutorial from i.unlock.no, everything work the ienew and the iunew but when i restore it to 1.1.2 an downgrade to 1.1.1 it doesnt work the iphone show that the iphone need to be repair.
with the iphone from week 45 46 47 and trying 48 works with the hardware unlock an running the terminal from the iphone and in firmware 1.1.1.
so the hardware unlock method only works in some iphones? or theres something wrong with the tutorial in i.unlock.no?

i have a Week 51 iphone and it is now a brick.
i cannot restore to 102 and iTunes says "waiting for iphone" for forever... i think we are all stuck in that mode and nobody can help us....
even nobody answers our questions...
hopeless and desperate.
i tried everything people suggested on the board as much as i can see..
just 5 minutes ago i tried to pressing F5 on iBrickr while waiting for iphone message appearing on the iTunes but still nothing happened...
but something changed.. i now receive error 9 instead of forever waiting for waiting for itunes message loop....
is there anybody going to help us over there ???

Come on guys, we need your support.
Ibrick isn`t working, even with 1.0.2 installed it does not activate and jailbreak the iphone. Is there any other way to access terminal and do geohot method to rewrite the baseband?
I`m really desperate right now, my brand new iphone damaged, i wish i had followed hackthatphone.com`s tutorial :(

this is how i fixed it!
in order to downgrade your 1.1.3 iphone.... follow this guide!
for windows you will need this version of iphuc...
http://iphucwin32.googlecode.com/fil...9_14_2007b.zip
and also itunesmobile.dll from itunes version 7.4.2 and readline5.dll
then follow this guide!
http://www.tuaw.com/2008/01/16/downg...or-ipod-touch/
in windows you can use ibrickr 0.91 or apptapp to kick your iphone out of dfu mode!
i had to to this step once.. then downgrade again normally in order to make it work! but it works now!!!!
this saved my day! and fixed my ****** up 1.1.2 otb basebad issues (no sound, wifi, imei and stuff)
so you can say that 1.1.3 fixes many baseband issues with 1.1.2 otb iphones....
only use this procedure if you know what you are doing and if you ****** up your baseband... i dont want to attemp to unlock this phone until a software unlock is ready... so is going to be just the expensive ipod touch for now....

This is absolutely no remedy for our problem!!!
because we cannot restore any firmware..
always get error 1011 at the end for firmwares 111 112 113....
and we are never able to restore 102 iTunes just keeps saying " Waiting for iphone"
For those who have problems with scrolling numbers and characters after iBrickr i can suggest you to pressing top and home buttons till you get the itunes logo and cable..
after that restore whatever version you have restored before ibricking your phone and that can keep you out of infinitive loop mode with scrolling characters...
but there is still no solution for us...
we are iphone owners >Week 47.....
we cannot restore 102 ---- it says " waiting for iphone"
we cannot restore 111 112 and 113 --- it gives error 1011
we have no WIFI unknown IMEI and ICCID just LCD no ....
we have nice bricks with no firmware !!!
i think we have zombie phones....
all they write "your phone needs repair contact apple.com/support"
i am really very upset

My problem is with ibrick!
I restored firm 1.0.2, and put the file inside ibricks directory.
But when i open ibrick (with the world picture displaying on my phone, which means it is out of dfu mode) and i click FREE MY IPHONE, ibrick doesn`t find the file 1.0.2.ipsw that is inside its directory and starts to download it again from servers.
If i leave the ipsw with the full name (like when we download it via itunes), ibrick locates the file and says that is decompressing the firmware files, but stays forever doing that and appears do be creating a new file named 1.0.2.ipsw, but it's so slow that i don't have patience to wait until it finishes.
Any advices? What am i doing wrong?

On my phone all the buttons and touch screen are working. I have the terminal installed on the iphone and its 1.0.2. No wifi, no imie no nothing. No sound. The baseband is completely hosed, and for the life of me i can not get ienew to write, or iunew to work. I Actually completed the bootloader downgrade, but the baseband got messed up. If I try to restore to any firmware i get 1012 error.
if you are in 1.0.2 you can use iBrikr to upload all the files for the H/W unlock procedure again to the iphone also get the .pxl files for BSD subsystem and VT terminal "get the newer version" install them with iBrikr and give it a try again, worked for me once on a phone that i didn't restarted to another firmware and it worked like a charm, but I am stuck trying to get another iphone into the 1.0.2 firmware without any luck have done everything that it can be done and still out, someone must have a solution to this and it's just not reading our posts.
Hope that helps!!!!

Hi guys,
seems like there are loads of us out there with a nice brick - unknown imei, unknown iccid, no sound etc.
Happy hacking!!!
great guide man...You missed on one particular thing: Step 0: Gather enough patience.
After fighting for 3 days, using a mac and a windows machine...
doing 20 times upgrade and downgrade between 1.1.1 and 1.02 and 1.1.2
I was planning to upgrade to 1.1.3 as the last resort
Finally unintalled itunes 7.6 and tried using itunes 7.3.x and it worked
-----
Now I am step 6....facing the same problem...Even if I install using PXL file, it does not appear as icon in the spring board
ibrickr report says : Could not enable SSL
Any hint? (thanks in advance)

I was on iTunes 7.5 and went to 7.3.2 and it says that I need atleast ver. 7.4 to work with the iphone.
My problem was I had a OTB 1.1.2 so downgraded to 1.1.1 then jailbroken all was good till this point but I knew that anysim does not work so on the 4.6 bootloader so I tried to downgrade the baseband using the app from i.unlock.no and went to hell from that point on. No matter what i do i get the repair needed iphone cannot make or receive calls. i've all day numerous ways cannot seem to get out of this visous cycle. when I try to restore through itunes with power/ home button way I get the immediate error, when I try to restore in DFU mode through iBrikr v0.91 it does what it has to do then just hangs forever on waiting for iphone.
Tried it again:
itunes ver 7.3 errors and says cannot be used because it requires Itunes 7.4 or later, any tips on a work around to this.
also there are 3 versions of itunes avail at filehippo:
7.3
7.3.1
7.3.2
Which one should we install and how do we get it to work with the iphone and avoid upgrading to 7.4 and higher?
Thank you
Glad to hear all of your responses.

What's the command to set permissions to the whole /usr/bin folder?
EDIT: sorry, i should stop asking dumb questions... figured it out. I'll report if i succeed.
Why do i get. No such file or directory when i do "chmod -R 777 /usr/bin"
How did you do to get it jailbroken?

Yeah, did that.
"launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
" again it tells me "No such process" So it obviously worked.
bbupdater -v says: "Error: Failed to initialize com layer: (is it open by another app?)"
when i go ps wwx i do have
"/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/CommCenter"
in there, does that need to be ended? if so, how?
launchctl unload doesn't work.
When i run ienew im gettin the cant write problem too... Do you have any tip? Did everything, unload and permissions but still can`t write...

guys, if you are stuck with iPhones that do not have basebands as result of OTB 1.1.2 downgrade efforts, do NOT upgrade to 1.1.3 firmware via iTunes thinking this will solve your problem!! instead, simply uninstall iTunes, and install a 7.3.x version of iTunes. this will help you get 1.0.2 firmware back onto the iPhone. once on, use ibrickr to copy bsd, terminal, squid, uictl to iPhone. also copy to /usr/bin/ these files:
ICE03.14.08_G.fls
ICE03.14.08_G.eep
BBupdater
Secpack 04.03.13_G
cd /usr/bin
chmod 777 *
launchctl remove com.apple.CommCenter(this will likely be off already from the previous iunew process. using uictl app, you can see if it's grey'd out or not)
./bbupdater -f *fls -e *eep (this will give you a baseband back to your iPhone)
./bbupdater -v (you should see version 03.14.08_G)
launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
do a hard boot, and go back to terminal and type bbupdater -v and make sure all is good with your bootloader(3.9), etc.
at this point, you can upgrade to 1.1.1. so, instead of using the RESTORE to 1.1.2 process as is seen on the i.unlock.no guide, you merely/simply use bbupdater -f *fls -e *eep to get your baseband back, and merely upgrade from that point.
if you are having problems restoring to 1.0.2, do not give up and do not restore to 1.1.3 thinking that will help, because it WONT! just go back to iTunes 7.3.x and use iBrickr to initiate the restore to 1.0.2. if this fails, try plugging in a second good iPhone into the same computer as your bricked iPhone, and then rename the bad iPhone to the exact same name as the good one(doing this rename in iTunes when the phones are displayed). then do an UPDATE on the good iPhone, and when the package is about to fully extract, pull the plug on the good iPhone, and iTunes will resume the update on the bad iPhone. this wil lend in error, but it will kick your iPhone out of the bricked mode, allowing you to reboot computer and use iBrickr to successfully restore to 1.0.2 via iTunes.
good luck and don't give up...

when i run ./bbupdater -f *fls -e *eep, the process freezes at "Resetting target", and after retrying for 10 times, it says " Error: Baseband bootloader is too old; update to 1.8 or later and try again"
I'm losing hope here... :(

guys, if you are stuck with iPhones that do not have basebands as result of OTB 1.1.2 downgrade efforts, do NOT upgrade to 1.1.3 firmware via iTunes thinking this will solve your problem!! instead, simply uninstall iTunes, and install a 7.3.x version of iTunes. this will help you get 1.0.2 firmware back onto the iPhone. once on, use ibrickr to copy bsd, terminal, squid, uictl to iPhone. also copy to /usr/bin/ these files:
ICE03.14.08_G.fls
ICE03.14.08_G.eep
BBupdater
Secpack 04.03.13_G
cd /usr/bin
chmod 777 *
launchctl remove com.apple.CommCenter(this will likely be off already from the previous iunew process. using uictl app, you can see if it's grey'd out or not)
./bbupdater -f *fls -e *eep (this will give you a baseband back to your iPhone)
./bbupdater -v (you should see version 03.14.08_G)
launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
do a hard boot, and go back to terminal and type bbupdater -v and make sure all is good with your bootloader(3.9), etc.
at this point, you can upgrade to 1.1.1. so, instead of using the RESTORE to 1.1.2 process as is seen on the i.unlock.no guide, you merely/simply use bbupdater -f *fls -e *eep to get your baseband back, and merely upgrade from that point.
if you are having problems restoring to 1.0.2, do not give up and do not restore to 1.1.3 thinking that will help, because it WONT! just go back to iTunes 7.3.x and use iBrickr to initiate the restore to 1.0.2. if this fails, try plugging in a second good iPhone into the same computer as your bricked iPhone, and then rename the bad iPhone to the exact same name as the good one(doing this rename in iTunes when the phones are displayed). then do an UPDATE on the good iPhone, and when the package is about to fully extract, pull the plug on the good iPhone, and iTunes will resume the update on the bad iPhone. this wil lend in error, but it will kick your iPhone out of the bricked mode, allowing you to reboot computer and use iBrickr to successfully restore to 1.0.2 via iTunes.
good luck and don't give up...
eric
Looks like some flaw in the solution. How can the bootloader 4.6 be downgraded using this process without testpoint connected?
can someone correct it?

Your iphone must be in DFU mode, simpliest method to set your phone to restore mode and run ibrickr and click "downgrade to 1.0.2", it will automatically set your phone to DFU mode. and since in iTune 7.6 DFU mode is removed, you must use 7.5 or before.

This seems like a good solution to the problem for an 1.1.2 OTB iphone that when trying to unlock through the HW method ended up with the "repair needed" message in every firmware (1.0.2, 1.1.1, 1.1.2 and even updating to 1.1.3). I could downgrade to 1.0.2 through itunes( I had to do the same method used to downgrade from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1) , but when I try to use iBrickr the fone goes into a en endless loop of restarting, so I cannot install anything on the phone.
If I use iphuc to manually create the folders and copy the files you explain, would I be able to run the commands you just explained in your post?
Wheat I'm fearing is that when I used the testpoints I ruined the commboard, but of course there is no way to know this. I'm glad I found this thread, but it seems that nothing can be done with my iphone, nothing works (ibrickr, apptapp, activate.bat). I men I CANNOT even Jailbreak from ANY firmware.
Of course I'm desperate but I think there still may be a chance that the commboard is not damaged and that it is stilla software problem.
Thank you!

Hey! I have the same problem... you found any solution?? If the answer is yes send me a email(xploadme@gmail.com)....i'm crazy with this....my iphone have 3 days and are fu.. up...
Thanks

yes u can restore to 1.0.2
hope u did not try to restore to 1.1.3!!! then u have to wait until the next apple firmware comes out (1.1.4?)
ok here we go:
1. connect your iphone to pc and start itunes. try to restore to 1.0.2 with shift-key while pressing the restore button. select the restore-file from hdd. normally itunes says that it could not restore.
2. close itunes and ituneshelper.exe in the task-window.
3. open ibrickr and select "restore 1.0.2". at this moment your display turns into white.
4. now you open itunes again and you are able to restore to 1.0.2 with the shift-key-trick. after the restore is done (of course whit an error) close itunes and ibrickr. now you should have the yellow triangle on your display
5. follow the instructions by crozt at step 2 from the first post of this thread
hope this helps.

I have a similar problem.
I have managed to erase baseband of my 1.1.2 OTB IPhone. One of the solution is to upgrade to 1.1.3 through ITunes. But I don't want to do that. Is there a way I can restore it with going that route? I would just like it to be back to 1.1.2 with 4.02.13G firmware.
any kind of help would be appreciated.

easy guide...
the easiest solution to
0049 imei,
no imei,
repair needed or
any other bricked situation...
is going to 1.1.3 using itunes....
BUT WAIT!!!
it works only for
any 1.1.1 below or
1.1.2otb after testpoint and iunew...(= 3.9BL) in HW unlock
if your iphone is in any situation above.... proceed....:D
if not...you can still upgrade your bricked iphone to 1.1.3 and use it as fancy ipod...and wait till unlock....at least...it's not bricked anymore.........:o
How to...put your at&t sim back
1- put in restore mode and upgrade to 1.1.3 using itunes.
2- In 1.1.3 put itunes in dfu mode to downgrade using itunes
3- Dfu mode
a. connect iphone in itunes and wait till iphone logo in itunes left bar
b. hold home and power til iphone icon in itunes is gone and release power and keep home pressed till itunes recognizes iphone again
c. If you do not put in dfu mode itunes will extract the firmware and give you an error”1
d. do the shift or alt+restore to 1.1.1 and after restore, ignore errors
4- your iphone will be stuck in recovery mode
a. Mac
i. Eject iphone from itunes
ii. Quit itunes
iii. Run independence it will detect iphone in recovery mode and status will blank and reconnect.
iv. Wait…
v. It should kick the restore mode out..(1.1.2 jailbreak reboot doesn’t work…)
vi. Didn’t work? Try restoring 1.1.1 again…it worked for me.
b. windows.
i. Just run apptapinstaller.exe
5- jailbreak as usual
a. if jailbreakme.com doesn’t work try instead i.unlock.no in safari
6- at this point your iphone is bootloader 3.9, FW 1.1.1 and baseband 04.03.13
7- since the bigboss took the 1.1.3>1.0.2 out from his repo…
8- add i.unlock.no in installer and install basebanddowngrader
9- after it finishes…restore to 1.1.1 again….
10- Jailbreak…..
11- You can unlock using 1.1.1 anysim here….or
12- Oktoprep and UPGRADE!!!! to 1.1.2 and jailbreak using 1.1.2 jailbreak…and anysim1.2.1…(don’t forget the airplane mode…)
Known issues…
backspace error in terminal install bsd 2.0 fix in bigboss...sleepers.net/iphonerepo
Errors after restore…ignore it….
Error in restore right after extract…aka error “1” put in efu mode to restore…read above
Independence doesn’t kick out from recovery….follow….eject iphone>quit itunes> open independence wait 1 minute….still in recovery? Restore 1.1.1 again….
Hope it helped….post results…..it worked in 3 bricked iphones…
one in 3.9 bootloader, now is fully functional….
One 1.1.2otb bricked after testpoint….fully finctional…
And sadly the other 1.1.2otb before TP……expensive ipod….
Please post your results!!!!
Greetings from brazil!

Step 5 doesn't work. Still "repair needed". And *#307# still doesn't work. Seems 1.1.3 didn't fix the baseband at all.
I have 51 week phone, after successful iunew, it can't be restored to 1.0.2. For 1.1.1, no emergency call. So no way even make it as an itouch.
