Hi,

My suggestions that there wouldn't be any s/w unlock until Apple understand that profits goes down seems to be not pointless (no firmware update, no mysterious update from mysterious 'dev team'). After all, I asking all community:

"Maybe it's time to moves our iPhones to linux? And start working on alternate firmware?"

It's clear that new firmware made by our hands would solve problem of sim-lock, but at least we would have free framework and place for thoughts!? So what linux guru says? (todays iPhone OS based on linux/bsd kernel i believe and one of the most biggest problems would be drivers for gsm modem, bluetooth adapter, multitouch panel, wi-fi adapter)

So point is:

does any one wants to starts porting Linux or Android for iPhone?

I got skills of programmer, so can help with software writing, but no skills with linux porting.

I just hate to wait when Apples goes down to end-user and give ability to use its gadget.

Yeap, my mistake, didn't read it, just talk with friend.

But overall: what about alternate platform for iPhone? just search with google: no linux ports (project on code.google.com has no sources an binaries).

I have knowleges to write code and produce programs, but has no experience in linux porting... So I asking gurus if any one wants to start project called: "Alternate iPhone OS"? (just like Android from Google), or even port Android to iPhone?

those projects just like: "I try and get no results...", they have no any updates...

Android already portet under several smartphone devices that anre not suppose to support it. So Google made and universal system. So any one knows aspects of such stuff?
