[Listen.app] - Only allows Sony Erickson phones now?

In the past hour I have been getting a message every time I try the program that the service is only allowed for Sony Erickson phones and it won't tell me the song name anymore. Is this happening to anyone else?

Ok, I just confirmed with my room mate who also has an iPhone and it's true, only Sony Erickson phones now. And we have the latest version. What a hike, I hope Erica figures out some kind of work-around.

Listen is off-line

For now the Listen proof-of-concept is off-line. I applied to Gracenote a while ago for a developer license and have been waiting for them to respond. All further Listen development depends on the Gracenote licensing, who are probably off at CES and Macworld.

That sucks.

I doubt they will allow the use of their database for free.

On the other hand, it might be possible to spoof the request as coming from a SE phone. Perhaps Erica is unwilling to do it but if she released the source someone else might be up to the task.
