iPhone 1.1.3 in NYC store???

Could this be possible??? I have a friend in NY and he just called because the person working at the store told him that today arrived the new version that it's impossible to unlock. Can this be true.
What I think is taht people from apple don't want foreigns to buy because they know they're for unlocking.
But can anyone tell me if this could be possible. He's buying 10 units and I don't want to have them as a brick.

That is exactly what they told my mother as she was standing in line to buy me my 1.1.2 phone. I had no trouble unlocking it here in Germany.

you did not unlock it. this is impossible, if you have 1.1.2 otb bl 4.6

relax guys, he probably had week 44 or under guaranteed. lol Unless he used a hardware unlock in germany, which is possible. But yea, 1.1.3 will be unlocked as soon as it comes out on the 14-15th . peace
