So for final Cloning you need a Silver Card.

SilverCards have a PIC16F877+24LC64 inside.

There is two types of silvercards one with small chip whichone is ok for sim clone and another one is the same card but with bigger chip so this is not good for simclone becouse if you cut the silvercard like sim you will have a problems fitting inside the sim holder of iphone here is the picture of silvercard with big CHIP so dont buy a silvercard with big chip they are totaly the same big and small one.

its a big chip if you cut this one like a sim you will have a problems.... it wont FIT n your sim adapter of iphone or you will break the chip

This one is good but the prices is so expensive becouse with small chip are discounted they are not producting anymore ......so if is the price ok for you buy it...

SmartCard readers writer have own software but by the way a universal softwares are all both working on any hardware smartcard reader writer..becouse the protocol is simple COM .

Sprich auch wenn ich mir eine aus England (oder USA) kaufe (SilverCard - oder meinst Du die Handysim??), wird diese NICHT mit z.b. T-Mobile funktionieren??!!!! So ein shit....

hello, this is my first post, been following the development for a couple of weeks, great job guys this is going to be really cool when we all get it to work, there are ways to do everything remember that, some are just harder than others.... so here are my questions

can someone make a sticky with the definitions and differences between getting a:

Silvercard

Supersim

TurboSim

SmartCard

and lets all just stick to 3 or 4 readers that work and post them all i a sticky saying exactly what items to get so that we all dont end up spending our cash in stuff that doesnt work...

anyhows... the first day the hack was discovered I bought this

I dont know if it will work because its not here yet... I'm in the dominican republic in the caribbean, we use the same calling prefiz as the US so we're good there i just have to dial 1(areacode) (7digit phonenumber) to make a call to the US and to call the mobile network from a landphone we dial in the same way (1)(our local area code)(7 digit number)

Our GSM networks are Orange (France Telecom) and Claro (mexican group that was or is associated with verizon)

my SIM card is way old, had it since 2003 and its very old, its less than 16k for sure, all the others I've seen are black and mine is gray, I had to change it because it doesnt hold many numbers but I never did, so lucky me, I dont kow anybody with such an old SIM card so I'm our best bet :)

hi phenomic,

the cas2 + addon definitely works. for the gsm simcard you have to use phoenix-mode and 3,579Mhz. for the silvercard you have to use 6Mhz. Not shure if the Funcard 6 is working.

Infinity USB unlimited have litlle bit more features than our.

1. Supports more types of cards
2. Infinity is with case, our is without case.

All other functions is similar.

The infinityUSB seems to be ther read/writer recommended in the Sim cloning tutorial -
As far as the card they match the serial and also the picture show the small chip - therefore they should be right.

This silvercard solution seems a great solution.
Does the Turbosim has any advantages compared to a silvercard with reader/writer.
Want to know this as i'm looking for a solution that's the best for future firmware updates.
To me it seems that Turbosim hasn't any advantages, but i'm not sure

I am a happy SilverCard user.

SilverCard only works for V1 SIMs and requires cloning your own SIM. If neither of these is an issue for you, then you are good to go with SilverCard.

If you have a V2 or V3 SIM and/or are concerned that cloning your SIM may be a (legal) issue, you'd better stick to Turbo/Stealth/Next/Hyper/and so forth.

SilverCard only works for V1 SIMs and requires cloning your own SIM. If neither of these is an issue for you, then you are good to go with SilverCard.

If you have a V2 or V3 SIM and/or are concerned that cloning your SIM may be a (legal) issue, you'd better stick to Turbo/Stealth/Next/Hyper/and so forth.

If one of them requires reprogramming, the other one will too.

Whether or not reprogramming is going to be needed, no one knows for the moment.

It depends on when/how the iPhone will check the SIM's details in future FW releases, which probably only Apple knows at this point.

At any rate, the need for reprogramming is unlikely to be a decision factor for you. Either both will need it, or neither one will.

A GreenCard should work, provided that's what the card really is.
It is basically a 256KB version of the SilverCard, who normally has 64.
It has the same processor as the SilverCard and the extra memory should do no harm.

I have not tried it, and someone else might beg to differ, but I believe you are not taking any risk with a GreenCard, if that's what the card on your link actually is.

If you have a way to check with the vendor selling it that it uses a PIC16F877 processor, that would put the issue to rest.

Old SIMs (>4-5 years) tend to be V1.
Recent SIMs (<1-2 years) tend to be V2 or V3.

Aside from this general rule of thumb, which has many exceptions, there is a less trivial but more accurate method to find out.

If you follow the instructions in the Supersim tutorial

and use Woron Scan to extract your provider's SIM's details, when you try and extract Ki, if your SIM is not V1 you will get an error message from Woron Scan that looks like "The GSM algorithm is not comp128-1".

This obviously means your SIM is V2 or V3.

I would like to know if any of this SilverCards will work in order to do sim cloning. I know some of this providers have been reviewed and approved mainly by deepdark, but this was back in july last year, so I would like to have an opinion of this links in case the provider updated or changed the products posted on their sites.
