[REQ] iPhone as a wireless keyboard and mouse?

How great would it be to use the iphone as a wireless keyboard for the mediacenter pc over WiFi? I wanted to buy the new Logitech Mini keyboard, but i think the iphone could do the job just as good! Just need a small server on the windows vista computer that "does" all the keypresses you do on the iphone. Would be great with arrows that move the mouse and buttons for single click and dobbel clicking. Is there a such app or maybee someone could make it? Think of the marked :)

With VNC you get remote desktop. I dont want that... Much more easy with just a bit keyboard in the widescreen iphone. :)

I have made a proposal gui for the wireless keyboard and mouse for iphone.

The play/pause/skip buttons could swap for user configurable script keys instead if someone could make it? Think about the ability to make it's own scipts via the keyboard. One button to open Mediaplayer classic or one button to open Internet Explorer ect.

The M/K button in the middle of the mouse controll's is to toggle mouse on og keyboard arrow keys on.

The Ctrl/Num works as Ctrl if you press it and displays the numeric keyboard if you hold it.

Does it look any good? Something i forgot?

Great idea, I would love to be able to do this.
The customizable buttons sound eaven sweeter, it would also be cool if it had preset layouts ex. for media player (back, forward, play, vol +...) it is sometimes really a hassle to get up and change a movie or pause.
What can I say I'm lazy :P

This could porbably get done by modifying VNsea, just kick out the image transfer (which should speed up things), and just modify the existing keyboard and shortcuts. Too bad I don't have any iPhone programing experience ;)

i think youd want the left/right mouse buttons near the edge so your fingers could get to them easy
would it even be possible to move the mosue usint the accelerometer? i doubt it!

I would like to be given the option to connect a bluetooth keyboard to the iPhone instead of using the iPhone as a keyboard. Much like the Palm handhelds...only not wireless in that case.

I've tried the VNSea and it does the job almost :) I hope that in the next version or so the keyboard will improve. Hope they bring the start button in vista as a link. And better mouse support. :) I think that the VNC is the way to go.

I think this holds great promise, if someone could develop it!
I have a G4 Mac Mini, and as such doesn't have the IR remote, but would love to use this and Front Row/MediaCentral to view photos and media! Am really excited by this! Hope someone can work and this soon..... :D

works pretty well. if they would only inlude the directional keys so i could control my tv channels
